QM200 Quality Inspection Process Guide

This document describes the steps to create and manage quality inspection lots in SAP. Inspection management begins with the creation of the inspection lot, which can be manual or automatic depending on the origin of the lot. Then, the inspection results are entered into the lot, and any defects are documented. Finally, the lot is closed, and the material is approved or rejected.

This chapter addresses concepts and practices with different types of

quality inspection. The unit covers the processing and management of batches of
inspection.

QM INSPECTION PROCESS.
The quality inspection component is used to determine if the product
the company meets the defined quality requirements. The inspections of
quality is carried out based on the specifications defined in the plans of
inspection.

Creation of Inspection Lot

Origin of the inspection lot
Definition
Identify the origin of an inspection lot when an inspection lot is created in the system.
Utilization
The system uses the origin of the inspection lot and the class of inspection to determine how it will be created.
and an inspection batch will be processed.

SAP defines the origins of inspection lots in the Customizing for Lot Opening
inspection. Cannot define its own inspection lot origins.

In the Customizing for Opening the inspection lot (Update inspection lot origins and
assign inspection classes), you can define the following control data for each class of
inspection
Range of numbers (inspection lot number defined by the user or generated by the system).
Criteria for dynamization.
Type of plan that will be selected when the system assigns an inspection specification to the batch of
inspection.
Status of the plan that will be selected when the system assigns a plan to the inspection batch.

The system includes the following inspection lot sources:

following inspection lot origins:
01 Goods entry.

05 Various goods receipts.

The inspection management begins with the creation of the inspection lot.
Depending on the origin of the inspection lot, the generation is
next:
The inspection lot can be created manually or it can be created automatically:
a) automatically upon receipt of goods with reference to purchase order, or
b) automatically before the entry of goods by purchase when the
