The illustration depicts how the Templeton’s seaside resort transformed over the 2000-2013

period.

Overall, the two maps reveal the modernization of the area with the construction of new
facilities.

In 2000, there were many more trees grown in the estate; however, a large number of them
were cut down and replaced with more houses and the airport in the North-East side of the
area in 2013. On the left of the illustrations, there saw an upgrade from single houses to high-
stories buildings and flats. The South-West area in 2013 was divided into two estates for the
supermarkets and the flat blocks.

Additionally, the railway was extended during the time period. Before it only run South to North
on the right-hand side of the map, but it was then constructed along the sea, supporting the
operations of the new ferry in the area. There was a big bridge built for the seaside railway.

Apart from the changes, many facilities were still located at the same place over the time. For
example, the location of hospital and school in the North-East side and the houses in the North-
West corner stayed unchanged from 2000 to 2013.
