Topic: Traffic in the city


Traffic congestion is one of the most serious problems in big cities and it makes life more
difficult for people. Thirty years ago, there were fewer cars on the roads and people were not
affected by traffic. However, today the streets are full of cars, buses and trucks. This essay will
analyze the most important causes of traffic congestion and will offer several solutions to
improve this situation
In cities, public transport systems make it much easier to get around, with buses, trains,
and subways running regularly throughout the day. Besides the convenience of transportation,
which can bring you everywhere in the city, traffic in urban areas can make you go under the
collar. This problem is even worse in rush hours when so many people run out to work by car or
motorbike. As a result, people who live in big cities usually wait for moving about 10 minutes to
2-3 hours.
Firstly, ecourage people using public transportation is the best solution to solve traffic
congestion. Instead of using private vehicles, we can go faster to the area we want to get to by
public transportation such as bus, subway. Buses can carry more people than cars, which can
help reduce the number of vehicles on the road. For example, if you use a personal vehicle, you
have to spend a lot of money on parking, refueling. So why not think about using public
transport. It will save you some travel costs but also help reduce pollution as they produce fewer
emissions than cars.
Secondly, widening roads can help to reduce traffic jams by increasing the capacity of the
road. This can be done by adding more lanes to the road, or by widening the existing lanes.
Widening roads can also help to improve traffic flow by reducing the number of merging and
weaving movements that vehicles have to make.
In conclusion, traffic congestion is a serious problem in every major city and causes
many problems for residents. It consumes too much time and energy unnecessarily and leads to
the loss of the nation. Therefore, authorities must take serious measures to control traffic and
promote the use of public transport, widening roads. Some measures will help the traffic jam in
the improve.
