The Full Story of Noah and the Ark

A Long Time Ago...

A long time ago, after God made the world, many people started to make bad choices. They were
hurting each other and not listening to God at all. This made God very sad. He saw that the world
was full of sin, and He decided to start over.
But there was one man who loved God and tried to do what was right. His name was Noah.
God Talks to Noah
God told Noah, “I’m going to send a great flood to clean the earth. But don’t worry—I will guide
you. Build a big boat called an ark. Make it strong and big enough to hold your family and two
of every kind of animal.”
Noah didn’t know exactly what a flood was. It had never rained like that before! But Noah
trusted God. Even when people laughed at him and thought he was crazy, Noah still listened and
started building the ark.
Building the Ark
It took a long time to build the ark—many, many years! Noah worked hard, and he followed
every instruction God gave him. He built the ark out of wood, made rooms inside, and covered it
with pitch to keep it waterproof.
As he built, people kept laughing. But Noah kept building, because he knew God was guiding
him.
The Animals Come In
When the ark was finished, something amazing happened: animals started coming! God brought
two of every kind of animal—elephants, lions, birds, bugs, and more. There were also seven
pairs of clean animals (used for special purposes).
Noah, his wife, his three sons (Shem, Ham, and Japheth), and their wives all went into the ark.
Then God closed the door.
The Rain Comes
It started to rain. It rained for 40 days and 40 nights. Water covered the earth, even the tallest
mountains! But the ark floated safely, just like God had promised.
Noah and his family stayed in the ark for a long time—over a year—waiting patiently while the
water slowly went down.
The Dove and the Olive Leaf
One day, Noah sent out a raven to see if the land was dry. The raven flew back and forth.
Then Noah sent a dove. At first, the dove came back because there was nowhere to land. A week
later, Noah sent the dove again, and this time it returned with an olive leaf—a sign that trees
were growing again!
Finally, when the land was dry, God told Noah to come out of the ark.
A New Start and God’s Promise
Noah and his family stepped out into a clean, fresh world. Noah built an altar and gave thanks to
God. God was pleased and made a promise:
“Never again will I flood the whole earth.”
As a sign of this promise, God put a rainbow in the sky. Every time we see a rainbow, we can
remember God’s promise and that He will always guide us.

Life Application: God Will Guide You
Just like Noah, sometimes God asks us to do things that don’t always make sense. Maybe it’s
being kind when others aren’t, standing up for what’s right, or trying something new that feels
scary.
But if we listen to God—by reading the Bible, praying, and following godly advice. He will
guide us just like He guided Noah.
Just Remember:
God gave Noah every detail to build the ark. He didn’t leave him alone!
God kept Noah and his family safe during the storm.
God led Noah out when it was time to begin again.
You can trust God to guide you, too—at home, at school, or anywhere in life. Even when life
feels stormy, God is your captain!
Psalm 32:8 (ESV) "I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel
you with my eye upon you."
The Story of Jonah
A long time ago, there was a man named Jonah. He loved God, and one day, God gave him an
important job:
“Go to the city of Nineveh,” God said. “The people there are doing bad things. Tell them to stop
and follow Me.”
But Jonah didn’t want to go. He was afraid and didn’t like the people of Nineveh. So instead of
obeying, Jonah ran away!
He got on a boat going in the opposite direction. But while at sea, a big storm came. The sailors
were scared. Jonah knew the storm was because he disobeyed God. He told the sailors,
“Throw me into the sea, and the storm will stop.”
So they did—and the storm stopped.
Then something amazing happened! God sent a big fish (some people say a whale), and it
swallowed Jonah! Jonah was in the belly of the fish for three days and three nights.
Inside the fish, Jonah prayed to God and said he was sorry. God heard his prayer, and the fish
spit Jonah out onto dry land.
This time, Jonah obeyed. He went to Nineveh and told the people God’s message. And guess
what? They listened! They said sorry to God, and He forgave them.

Life Application
1. God Wants Us to Obey
Even when it’s hard or frightening, it’s best to do what God says. Jonah learned that running
away doesn’t solve the problem.
2. God Forgives Us
Jonah made a mistake, but when he prayed and said sorry, God gave him another chance. God is
loving and patient.
3. God Loves Everyone
Even the people in Nineveh, who were doing wrong things, mattered to God. He wanted them to
change and be forgiven.
4. You Can Talk to God Anywhere
Even in the belly of a big fish, Jonah prayed—and God heard him. No matter where you are, you
can always pray.

The Story of Job

Who Was Job?
Job (say: "job") was a good and kind man who lived a long time ago in a land called Uz. He
loved God with all his heart and always tried to do what was right. He stayed away from evil.

God had blessed Job with many good things:

 A big family with 7 sons and 3 daughters

 Thousands of animals (like7000 sheep,3000 camels, and500 oxen and 500 donkwy )
 Lots of land and servants
 A healthy, happy life

Everyone knew Job was a faithful man and very rich.

Satan’s Challenge
One day, Satan came before God and said, “Job only loves You because You’ve given him so
many good things. If You take those away, he won’t love You anymore.”

God said, “Job is a faithful servant. You may test him, but don’t hurt him.”

Job Loses Everything

In just one day, terrible things happened to Job:

 His animals were stolen or killed

 His servants were attacked
  A big wind knocked down the house where his children were eating, and all his children
died

Job was heartbroken. But even though he was very sad, he did not blame God. He said:

“The Lord gave me everything, and now He has taken it away.

I will still praise the name of the Lord.”

Job Gets Sick

Satan came back to God and said, “If Job gets sick, he will stop loving You.”
God said, “You may hurt him, but do not kill him.”

Then Job became very sick. He had painful sores all over his body. He sat on the ground in
ashes and scratched himself with broken pottery because he was in so much pain.

Even his wife told him to give up and curse God.

But Job said:

“Should we only accept good things from God and not hard things too?”

Job’s Friends Visit

Three friends—Eliphaz, Bildad, and Zophar—came to visit Job. At first, they sat with him in
silence for 7 days because they saw how sad he was.

Then they started talking. They thought Job must have done something wrong, and that’s why
all these bad things were happening.

Job said, “I haven’t done anything wrong. I don’t understand why this is happening.”

A younger man named Elihu also spoke and said, “God is powerful and fair. Maybe He is using
this to teach you something.”

God Speaks
Then God spoke to Job out of a storm. He asked Job many questions:

 “Where were you when I created the world?”

 “Can you make the sun rise or the rain fall?”
 “Do you understand how the animals live or where the wind comes from?”

God wasn’t angry—He wanted Job to understand that God is in control, even when we don’t
understand everything.
Job realized that God is wise and good. He said:

“I spoke about things I didn’t understand. Now I see how great You are.”

God Blesses Job Again

God was pleased with Job because he stayed faithful. He also forgave Job’s friends after Job
prayed for them.

Then God gave Job even more blessings:

 Twice as many animals

 7 more sons and 3 more daughters
 His daughters were known for being very beautiful like 14000sheep,6000 camels, and
1000 oxen and 1000 donkey
 A long life full of peace and joy

Job never stopped trusting God. He went through hard times, but God was with him the whole
time.

1. Trust God in Hard Times

Even when Job lost everything, he still believed in God. We should trust God, even when things
go wrong.

2. God Is Always in Control

Sometimes we don’t understand why bad things happen. But we can trust that God knows
everything and is still taking care of us.

3. Be Kind to People Who Are Sad

Job’s friends weren’t very helpful. When someone is hurting, we should be kind, listen, and
pray for them.

4. It’s Okay to Talk to God When You’re Sad

Job was sad and asked God many questions. God wants us to talk to Him, even when we don’t
feel happy.

5. God Can Restore Joy

Job’s life became happy again. Even if we go through hard things, God can bring us hope and
joy again.

The Story of Joseph (for Children) From the Book of Genesis (Chapters 37–50)
Joseph and His Colorful Coat
A long time ago, there was a boy named Joseph. He was one of twelve brothers and his father,
Jacob, loved him very much. So much that he gave Joseph a special colorful coat! His brothers
were jealous of him.
One day, Joseph told his brothers about some dreams he had. In his dreams, he saw his brothers
bowing down to him. This made them angry. "Do you think you’ll rule over us?" they said.
Joseph Gets Sold
One day, while Joseph was looking for his brothers in the fields, they saw him coming and made
a wicked plan. They took away his special coat and threw him into a pit. Then, they sold him to
some traders going to Egypt. They told their father that Joseph had been killed by a wild animal.
Jacob was heartbroken.
Joseph in Egypt
In Egypt, Joseph became a servant in a rich man’s house named Potiphar. Joseph worked hard
and did what was right. But Potiphar’s wife lied about him, and Joseph was thrown into prison,
even though he had done nothing wrong.
Even in prison, Joseph stayed close to God. He helped the other prisoners by interpreting their
dreams. Later, when Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, had strange dreams, someone remembered
Joseph.
Joseph Interprets Pharaoh’s Dreams
Joseph was brought to Pharaoh. Pharaoh told him his dreams, and Joseph explained, “There will
be seven good years of food and seven bad years of hunger.” Pharaoh was amazed and made
Joseph the second most powerful man in Egypt!
Joseph’s Brothers Come to Egypt
When the bad years came, Joseph’s brothers came to Egypt to buy food. They didn’t recognize
Joseph, but Joseph knew who they were. He tested them to see if their hearts had changed.
Eventually, Joseph told them, “I am your brother, Joseph!”
His brothers were afraid, but Joseph forgave them. He said, “God used all of this for good to
save many people.”
Happy Ending
Joseph brought his whole family to live in Egypt, and they had food and a safe home. Joseph
showed us how to trust God and forgive others.

Even when bad things happen, God is working for good. Like Joseph, we can trust God even
when we don’t understand.

Joseph forgave his brothers, even though they hurt him. We should forgive others too.

Joseph did the right thing, even in hard times. Let’s choose to do what is right and trust God to
take care of us.
4. Use Your Gifts
Joseph used his gift of understanding dreams to help others. God has given each of us special
gifts we can use to help people.

1. Dream of the Bundles of Grain

Joseph dreamed that he and his brothers were tying up bundles of grain in a field. His bundle
stood up, and all his brothers' bundles bowed down to his.
What it meant: One day, Joseph’s brothers would bow down to him.
2. Dream of the Sun, Moon, and Stars
Joseph had another dream. He saw the sun, moon, and eleven stars bowing down to him.
What it meant: His whole family would respect him one day.
Dreams Joseph Helped Explain (When He Was in Prison and Egypt)
3. The Cupbearer’s Dream
The cupbearer (a man who gave drinks to the king) dreamed about a grapevine with 3 branches.
The grapes grew, and he squeezed them into a cup and gave it to the king.
What it meant: In 3 days, he would get his job back and serve the king again.
4. The Baker’s Dream
The baker dreamed that he had 3 baskets of bread on his head, and birds were eating from the top
basket.
What it meant: In 3 days, the baker would die. (This was a sad dream.)

5. Pharaoh’s Dreams
The king of Egypt (Pharaoh) had two dreams:
a. Dream of the Cows
He saw 7 fat cows eating grass. Then 7 skinny cows came and ate the fat cows.
b. Dream of the Grain
He saw 7 full heads of grain, then 7 thin, dry heads grew and swallowed the good ones.
What both meant: There would be 7 good years with lots of food, and then 7 bad years with no
food (famine).
