hi player thank you for noticing my readme

if you're reading this, odds are you're not a veteran earthbound fan and don't know
how to patch a ROM to play a hack
that's ok! thats why i'm here :3

STEP 1: Get a ROM of Earthbound. However you may do that. Legally, I'm NOT
suggesting that you download one from the internet. :eyes:

STEP 2: With your rom, you can go to this site [Link] to


actually patch the hack onto the ROM.
Make sure you're NOT in creator mode (should be how it is default) and set the ROM
as your ROM of Earthbound, and the patch file as "[Link]" !!! DO NOT ADD A
TEMPORARY HEADER !!!
IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT PATCHING: It's uncommon, but your ROM might be incompatible
with the patcher due to being slightly different in the dumping process. If this
happens, just try to find another source for your ROM.

STEP 3: Get an emulator to play if you haven't already! I don't think it's illegal
to suggest emulators, so I highly recommend "Mesen." If you're more oldschool or
that doesn't work for whatever reason, there's always SNES9X too.

POTENTIAL ISSUES WITH HACK:


There might be one or two bugs left over in the hack when you play version 1.0. We
spent two years on this hack, and we used up those entire two years. It really came
down to the wire at the end of development, so we didn't have time to fix
EVERYTHING.

IMPORTANT NOTICES:
Some people have reported a potential crash when opening the status menu towards
the end of the game, so be sure to save often around there. Or maybe just don't
open the status menu if you don't want to lol.
