TOPIC 1: What are some cause of global warming
It has become apparent in recent years that global warming is one of the biggest
issues facing humans nowadays. So, what is the causes of global warming ? As
we know, global warming is the rise in the average temperature of the earth due
to the increase of greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide,
methane, and water vapour. Global warming occurs due to a lot of subjective
and objective reasons. The first thing I would mention is greenshouse gases
which are carbon monoxide and sulphur dioxide. It traps the solar rays and
prevent them from escaping the surface of the earth, which makes the
temperature of the earth increased. However, global warming is mainly man-
made. And the explanation of this could be that human activities including
industrial production, burning fossil fuels, mining of minerals release carbon
dioxide and monoxide from the exhaust. For instance, in the USA, about 40% of
carbon dioxide emissions come from electricity production. Another source of
carbon dioxide emissions is the burning of petrol for transport. The situation is
getting worse as the demand for cars is increasing rapidly in the modern world.
Some causes I have mentioned above lead to a problem that has a very serious
impact on nature and human life – global warming. In conclusion, global
warming is threatening human beings and millions of species Earth, both
goverments and individuals have to take action to reduce its enormous causes
and effects.
Topic 2: Talk about a heritage site that you would like to visit
Nowadays, VietNam is known as not only a potential country with flourishing
market economy but also a popular travel destination with hearttouching
magnificent landscapes. If I am asked by a foreign friend to recommend a
tourist attraction that I like to pay a visit in Vietnam, I will definitely suggest Ha
Long Bay - one of seven new world heritage sites recognised by UNESCO. Ha
Long Bay is located in Quang Ninh Province in the northern part of Vietnam. In
fact, it takes nearly 2 hours to get there from Hai Phong by [Link] bay covers
an area of over 1500 square km, includes over 1600 islands and islets which
form a spectacular seascape of limestone. This is a unique heritage as it marks
important events in the formation and development of VietNam history;
simultaneously, it is also blessed by mother nature with breathtaking views. It's
a shame if you don’t visit Bo Hon island - the home of a variety of flora and
fauna, Yen Tu mountain or Kissing rocks... Importantly, the ideal season to visit
Ha Long Bay is summer when the weather is warm and sunny. There are lots of
beautiful caves and islands in Ha Long, so we ought to take a boat trip and go
sightseeing. We can do water sports here like swimming, sailing, and
windsurfing. In addition, my favorite thing to do here is to enjoy the abundant
cuisine, consisted of many fresh and delicious seafood which are made from
special marine species of Halong with reasonable price. Moreover, residents
here are very friendly and ready to help anyone if we’re in a fix. Conclusively, a
mystical, dreamy and elegant Ha Long Bay has become the pride of Vietnamese
people and it is everyone’s awareness and responsibility to conserve and
preserve this precious heritage.
Topic 3: What do you think our city will be like in the year 2050
By 2050, I believe that Hai Phong would become better, due to the considerable
development. However, our new city will contain both positive and negative
things. Firstly, we can take a look at optimistic aspects. My initial point would
be that robots will replace us for many complex jobs, for example: data
analysis, information processing, manufacturing, farming...As a result,
employees are not required to perform difficult tasks or operate in hazardous
environments. Besides, nonrenewable resources will be replaced by
alternativesources of energy. In particular, the government will design and carry
out projects aiming to reduce fossil fuel consumption, encourage city dwellers
to use infinite energy sources such as: solar energy, wind power,... for cooking,
lighting and heating their homes. Importantly, the appearance of non – driver
vehicles will bring more benefits in participating in traffic. Using self – driving
automation not only limit the rate of accidents but also save time for us to do
other work. On the other hand, it is undeniable that there are still several
drawbacks of our city in the future. I really need to kick off with the point that
the unemployment rate will rise as a result of technological advancement. If
robots shoulder all of our work, it will take the place of humans in the current
life. Many jobs will disappear, including manual and mental labors if people do
not learn and improve themselves to keep up with the development of
technology. Moreover, people have to face a high standard of living, so
financial pressures in the family will go up. In conclusion, while there exists
contrasting viewpoints on the concern, I, in line with the previous opinion,
believe that Hai Phong will become a more modern city by 2050.
