1.
A situation I can recall of when I had to work with multiple groups is the time I was a part of
the Commerce Club in my Junior College, we used to organize multiple events in and around the
school that would involve students, teachers and parents as well. An event that I would like to
specifically mention that we had organized is the ‘Diwali mela’ in 2018. This was the biggest
event we had organized and it required a lot of commitment from our side to make the event
successful. I was in charge of gathering all the sponsors for the event and handling the finances
that would be required. I had to be in constant touch with the sponsors, the stall organizer’s as
well as our team to update them about each sponsor and where their ad should be displayed
and how they are expecting it to be presented. While managing all this I also had to update our
teachers regarding the progress of the work and keep them in the loop too.
While dealing with sponsors and the team members was a task in itself it made me confident
about my people managing skills. I was like a point of communication between the sponsors
and the team which helped me learn how to deal with people with different mindsets and
expectations. Every sponsor had some demand regarding the display of their ads or products,
and every sponsor wanted his ad to be displayed in a way that most people could see it. We had
to make sure that all of our sponsors are satisfied and are not disappointed so we kept weekly
meetings within the team and update each other on the progress of the work done and what
will be our further course of action. This helped us to streamline the process of organizing the
event and the work was distributed among the peers equally and everyone was satisfied. We
used to seek guidance from our faculty regarding the spendings and how we should maintain a
proper record of all expenses and incomes, this helped me understand the finances even better
on how I should utilize the money that I have so that I can attain the maximum satisfaction from
it.
[Link] is a recent incident that I would like to share with you, during the 1 st semester of my
MBA course we had received a marketing assignment in which we had to develop a business
idea and present it in front of the class, we had prepared a solid business plan for which we also
gathered data and did a survey. The business idea was that we wanted to promote the Indian
artisans and artforms by providing them with a platform to showcase it was a simple yet a
powerful idea and we worked for 2-3 weeks on the project and made a presentation that we
were sure would outshine. But before the presentation we realized that there was a
fundamental flaw in our survey and all the data we collected was not quite aligning with our
project objectives, instead of panicking in the situation or asking for extension we decided to
conduct on ground survey of real artisans again with relevant questions. This move made us
even more confident about our project and within 2 days we did a new survey though our
sample size was smaller than what it was earlier but this made us confident in our project and
we were able to present the project very precisely and made our audience invested in such
products.
[Link] was during the Corporate finance assignment in which we had to assess the balance sheet
of any company that we chose and evaluate its financial ratios and create a presentation based
on our findings. As I am of commerce background this was not that challenging for me but my
team was a mix of talent with 2 engineers who had little to no knowledge about how these
things works. I realized my role in this project and took up the lead as I understood the project
in full. I made a workflow chart explaining my team members what we had to do and how we
are going to achieve it. I sat down with them and explained to them the basic and important
ratios that are used to assess a position of the company. As the engineers are good with
numbers it didn’t take long for them to understand the functions of the ratios. I delegated them
with the task to read the balance sheets and assess the basic ratios of accounting. They did the
same but there were many flaws in their calculations as they were unable to correctly interpret
the balance sheet, but instead of dismissing their work I sat down with them and made them
understand where they went wrong. I understood that it is very difficult to grasp the accounting
methods in such short span of time. But we didn’t stop there, I did the financial assessment of
the company and made them understand how I came to these conclusions. Then after
explaining it to them I assigned them the task to make the presentation of the findings and add
a conclusion what they think is suitable this made them more involved in the project and it was
sort of learning for them by doing so they even didn’t feel left out and their morale kept high.
4. I definitely think that I am the best fit at hexa climate as I have a strong foundation of
learning and my recent internship at ‘Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission’ made me
aware of how the power sector functions and I gained a deep understanding of the regulations
of this business. I am sure that I would be a valuable addition to the team and will contribute as
much as I can. I also have a keen interest on carbon markets and renewables which will be
helpful for contributing to the company. I may not know a few things but I am a kind of person
that will tell you that I don’t know how to do it but will make sure to learn it and gain some
knowledge out of it. I am never afraid to ask for help and am very much open to work with all
kinds of people. I am always honest with my work and about my work and will always try to do
things the right way.5 years down the line I see myself at the higher management at Hexa and
contributing to the growth of company with my personal growth. I see myself dealing with big
companies and executing PPAs with them I also see myself at a lead position at hexa.
