The picture compares the map of ground floor of a library in a period of eight
years, in 2001 and 2009. It can be seen that there were a lot of changes had taken
place in the ground floor of this library.
To take a brief look at the diagram, we can clearly see some major additions
and some changes in the structure of the library over a period of eight years.
Firstly, heading toward the entrance, there were nothing that had been changed
about the librarian desk and the stairs position. In the left side of the library, we
can spot some major changes in the genres of the book on the shelf, in 2001, there
were just two huge genres which were self-help and history book that cover up all
the place on the bookshelf. But eight years later, these two big types of books had
divided into smaller shelfs for several genres, which were from the entrance to the
end respectively were History, Fiction, Self-help, Kitchen Economics and Law. At
the end of the ground floor, in the 2001, was the Fiction bookshelf but they
changed it into Children’s books in 2009. Next to it was a children’s area which
was not a thing in 2001. At the middle of the room, the eight smaller tables in 2001
was removed and in place of these were four bigger tables. The place once called
Newspapers and periodicals area in 2001 then turned into the Films and DVDs area
in 2009. There were also two new computers installed in 2009, between the stair
and the Films area.
