after which it decreased to 4.6% in 2014.
Task 1: The charts below show changes in the proportion of energy
produced from different resources in a country in 1985 and 2003.
The pie charts illustrate the percentage of energy manufactured
(produced / generated) from various resources in an unnamed country in
1985 and 2003.
Overall, it is obvious that natural gas accounted for the highest proportion
of energy, while the opposite was true for hydrogen over the surveyed time
frame. In addition, most resources witnessed an upward trajectory, except
for nuclear and natural gas, which decreased, while hyrogen remained
stable.
In 1985, the percentage of energy made from natural gas ranked first at
over half, which was significantly higher than those of nuclear and oil, at
22% and 13%, respectively. When it comes to coal, the proportion of
energy produced from this resource was double that of hydrogen, with the
respective figure being 8% and 4%. Moreover, an insignificant share of 1%
of energy was manufactured from other renewable.
In 2003, natural gas continued to lead all the chart at 39%. This was
followed by a comparable percentage of oil and coal at around 22%. A
considerable drop was witnessed in nuclear, which fell from 22% to 8% in
2003, which precisely double that of hydrogen. Finally, there was a slight
growth to 4% in other renewable. However, this category still stood at the
lowest position.
