Linear Equation Solutions Tutorial

The document contains a series of mathematical problems involving systems of equations, with solutions provided for each. Some problems yield no solutions, while others have specific variable solutions based on parameters. Additionally, it explores conditions for trivial and non-trivial solutions based on the values of constants in the equations.

(b − 1)x + (3b + 1)y + 2bz = 0,
2x + (3b + 1)y + 3(b − 1)z = 0.
Ans:

(ii) λ ̸= 3 and µ has any value,

(iii) λ = 3 and µ = 21.

are consistent. Also solve the system for these values of λ:
x + y + z = 3,
2x + y − z = λ,
3x − y + 2z = 2.
Ans:

1. For λ = 3: x = 3, y = 0, z = 2,

2. For λ = 2: x = 2, y = 1, z = 2,

3. For λ = 2t − 1: x = t, y = 1 − 2t, z = t.
