I. Objectives

III. Procedures
1. Warm up: Read my lips (5’)
- Have two teams set up and the first person on each team must watch the teacher’s mouth.
- Set a letter with no voice, just move his/her lips in tongue in the correct way. The first team
to guess correctly gets a point.
2. New lesson
2.1. Presentation (10’)
- Have students look at the pictures.
- Point to the pictures and say the letters' sounds.
- Play audio. Have students listen and repeat the letter sounds. (whole class/ individuals).
2.2. Practice (15’)
- Have students look at the pictures.
- Demonstrate pointing to the correct letter when you hear the sound.
- Play audio. Have students point to the correct picture at the top of the page when they hear
the appropriate sound.
Put a tick (√) or a cross (x).
- Have students look at the pictures and call out the beginning sounds. Demonstrate the
activity using the example.
- Have students put a tick or a cross.
- Check answers as a whole class.
D. Play “Magic finger”
- Have students look at the example.
- Divide the class into pairs.
- Have Student A draw a letter on Student B's back.
- Have Student B try to guess which letter it is.
- Have students swap roles and repeat.
3. Production (5’)
- Write the letters and the words in different areas on the board.
- Divide the class into groups.
- Invite a student from each group to go to the board.
- Call out a letter sound or a word. The students will run and slap the letter or the word on the
board and say it loudly. The fastest student will be the winner.
- Repeat the activity with other students.
4. Wrap up and homelink
- Have students clap when they hear the sound /æ/, jump when they hear the sound /b/, hop
when they hear the sound /k/ and standstill when they hear the sound /d/.
- Have one student come in front of the class to play the role of teacher and continue saying
the sound.
- Do the exercises in Tiếng Anh 1 i-Learn Smart Start Notebook on page 16.

- Ask Ss to look at and recognise things in the task.
- Have the students choose the letter with given pictures.
- Divide the class into pairs and have them check each other’s work.

1. Warm up: Speed race (5’)
- Put 4 chairs in front of the board.
- Divide the class into 4 teams.
- Have a student from each team stand up.
- Put a phonics card on each chair.
- Call out one of the phonics cards. The students standing try to be the first to sit on the chair
with the corresponding phonics card. The first student to sit on the chair wins a point for
his/her team. The team with the most points wins.
2. New lesson
2.1. Presentation (10’)
- Point to the pictures and say the letters' sounds.
- Play audio. Have students listen and repeat the letter sounds.
2.2. Practice (15’)
- Have students look at the pictures.
- Demonstrate pointing to the correct letter when you hear the sound.
- Play audio. Have students point to the correct picture at the top of the page when they hear
the appropriate sound.
Write the letter.
- Have students look at the pictures and call out the beginning sounds. Demonstrate the
activity using the example.
- Have students write the letters.
- Check answers as a whole class.
Play “Stepping stones”
- Divide the class into pairs.
- Have Student A start at A and say the first letter sound or word.
- Have Student B start at B and say the first letter sound or word.
- Have students take turns saying the letter sounds or words as they go all the way around.
3. Production (5’)
- Place letter cards from a to d on the board.
- Ask one student to say the first letter.
- Ask another student to say the next letter.
- Continue with each student saying the next letter in the sequence, returning to the beginning
when necessary.
- Remove one letter. The class repeats the sequence, including the missing letter.
- Remove one more letter each time, until students are saying the whole alphabet from their
memory.
4. Wrap up and homelink
- Divide the class into two teams, each team has some flashcards of letters a, b, c, d and
pictures of ant, boy, door, cap.
- Say Go. Two students of each team take a letter and a picture run to the board. If the letter
and picture are matched. They will have one point.
- Continue the game as the same way.

- Have cards with numbers from 11 to 15 on the back. Elicit the different flashcards
you have. Then place all the flashcards around the classroom.
- Divide the class into groups of five.
- Give the students one minute to find the cards. Each group has to find five different
cards. When time is up, the teacher says "Give me number (twelve)". The student
having the card number 12 should hold up and say the number.

- Divide the class into two teams.
- Show a flashcard to the class.
- Have Team A ask the question and Team B answer.
- Swap roles and repeat.

- Afterwards, have some pairs demonstrate the activity in front of the class.

and have student A answer.
- Have students swap roles and repeat. Afterwards, have some pairs demonstrate the
activity in front of the class.
3. Production (5’)
- Divide the class into groups of five. Each group sits in a circle. Give each group a
ball.
- Prepare some pictures then give to each group.
- Have one student point at the picture and asks “How many ______ are there?”. Then,
this student throws the ball to another student who has to answer. Continue until every
student has had a turn.
4. Wrap up and homelink
- Do the exercises in Tiếng Anh 2 i-Learn Smart Start Notebook on page 19.

there?” and the other student will answer.
- Have the pair mark that space as theirs if they use the useful language correctly.
- Have teams take turns. The team that gets three spaces in a horizontal, vertical, or
diagonal line wins the game.

Sing the alphabet song.
- Play the alphabet song and have students listen.
- Play audio again and have students sing the song.
- Put the flashcards on the board for the letters in red (A to O).

- Have students work in pairs, practice pointing and saying the sounds or the words.
Swap roles.
- Ask students to write the letters n and o, then write the words in B.
- Give feedback if necessary.
C. Draw lines
- Have students look at the pictures and call out the things they can see.
- Demonstrate the activity using the example.
- Have students draw lines from the letters to the pictures.
Check answers as a whole class.
3. Production (5’)
Play “Guess the picture”.
- Have students look at the example.
- Divide the class into two teams.
- Have a student stand facing away from the board and stick a flashcard on the board
behind them.
- Have someone from the same team ask the student a question about the flashcard.
- Have the student try to guess the answer without looking at the flashcard. Give that
team one point if it's a correct guess. Have teams take turns.
4. Wrap up and homelink
- Have students open their workbooks, page 22.
- Have them look at part A and B and think what they will have to do.

- Have students start reading and doing parts A and B. When the time ends by
explosion students stop doing their exercises.
- Have students change their workbooks together.

- When the time is up, all the students hold up the chalkboards.
Give- the team which has all the correct answers one point.
The team that gets the most points wins.

a. Mục tiêu

gợi ý sau:

c. Kết luận
- Thầy cô giáo có công lao dạy dỗ HS trở thành người tốt, có ích cho xã hội. Vì thế các
em cần kính trọng, lễ phép, vâng lời thầy cô giáo.
3. Hoạt động 3: Hát về thầy cô (10’)
a. Mục tiêu
- HS thể hiện tình cảm yêu mến, kính trọng, biết ơn thầy cô qua các bài hát.
b. Cách tiến hành
- GV tổ chức cho HS hát một số bài hát mà em đã được học về thầy cô giáo theo nhiều
hình thức: cả lớp, tốp ca, đơn ca.
- Sau bài hát, GV tổ chức cho HS chia sẻ về ý nghĩa của bài hát, cảm xúc của em khi
hát bài hát về thầy cô.
c. Kết luận
- Để ca ngợi công ơn của thầy cô giáo, đã có nhiều bài hát được sáng tác về thầy cô,
mái trường. HS cần học thuộc các bài hát và biểu diễn những bài hát này trong những
dịp phù hợp để tỏ lòng biết ơn thầy cô, như ngày Nhà giáo Việt Nam 20 - 11.
