This assignment is mapped to CLO3: Share how information management strategies
are applied to the real-world situations.

Objective:
Students will select a specific topic from the six MIS chapters and conduct an in-depth
investigation into how it is implemented in a real-world business setting. By interviewing
at least two managers, you will gain insights into practical applications, challenges, and
potential areas for improvement.

Assignment Components:
1. Topic Selection and Focus
o Choose one specific area from the topics above.
2. Manager Interview
o Identify and interview at least two managers who are responsible for or
familiar with the selected topic area. These managers need to be from
different organisations but under the same field/industry.
o Brainstorm and develop interview questions apart from what has been
suggested above.
3. SWOT Analysis or Key Challenges Summary
o Based on the information gathered, conduct a SWOT analysis:
▪ Strengths: What benefits does this information system/tool bring?
▪ Weaknesses: Are there any limitations or areas where it falls
short?
▪ Opportunities: Are there opportunities for improvement or
expansion?
▪ Threats: What challenges or risks does it face in implementation?
o Include several actions / strategies that can assist managers.
Deliverables and Deadlines
1. Conventional Presentation – Slides are projected on screen and students
summarizing insights, challenges, and recommendations. Images and short
video clips of interview must be produced during the presentation.
