ABSTRACT
Agriculture plays a vital role in sustaining the global economy, yet
farmers continue to face challenges such as labor shortages, uneven
seed distribution, and time-intensive sowing practices. To overcome
these issues, this project introduces a Bluetooth-Controlled Seed
Sowing Robot, aimed at automating the seed planting process while
ensuring precision and ease of operation.
The system is built around an Arduino microcontroller integrated with
an HC-05 Bluetooth module for wireless communication. A mobile
application serves as the control interface, enabling the operator to
guide the robot remotely. The robot is equipped with a motor-driven
seed dispensing mechanism designed to maintain uniform spacing and
depth during sowing. To enhance sustainability, the design
incorporates solar power support, reducing dependency on conventional
energy sources.
The methodology focuses on three aspects: (i) developing a reliable
control mechanism through wireless communication, (ii) designing an
efficient seed dispensing system, and (iii) implementing an eco-friendly
energy source. Testing demonstrated that the robot significantly
reduces manual effort, minimizes seed wastage, and maintains
consistent planting patterns.
The findings indicate that the Bluetooth-Controlled Seed Sowing Robot
provides a cost-effective, scalable, and sustainable solution for modern
farming. By reducing labor requirements and enhancing precision in
seed placement, this project contributes toward smart agricultural
practices and can serve as a foundation for future advancements, such
as integrating sensors for soil analysis and IoT-based remote
monitoring.
PROJECT SYNOPSIS
Project Title: Bluetooth-Controlled Seed Sowing Robot
Introduction:
Agriculture plays a crucial role in sustaining human life, but traditional farming
methods demand high labor, time, and resources. With the advancement of
automation and IoT technologies, agriculture is shifting toward smart and
efficient solutions. The Bluetooth-Controlled Seed Sowing Robot is designed to
automate seed planting operations, ensuring precision, reducing human effort,
and enhancing productivity.
Objectives:
• To design and develop a robot capable of automating seed sowing.
• To integrate Bluetooth-based wireless control for user-friendly operation.
• To implement solar-powered charging for eco-friendly and sustainable
functioning.
• To achieve uniform seed spacing and reduce manual labor dependency.
Methodology:
1. Control Mechanism:
The robot is wirelessly controlled using an HC-05 Bluetooth module paired
with a smartphone app. Commands are processed by the Arduino UNO
microcontroller.
2. Locomotion:
DC gear motors, driven by an L298N motor driver, enable smooth movement
and direction control across the field.
3. Seed Sowing Mechanism:
A seed hopper, operated by a servo or DC motor, dispenses seeds at specific
intervals, ensuring precision and uniformity.
4. Power Management:
A 3S Li-ion battery pack powers the robot, supported by a solar panel for
supplementary charging. A 7805 voltage regulator ensures stable power
supply to the Arduino and Bluetooth module.
5. Chassis and Structure:
A durable wooden chassis houses all components, providing strength and
stability during field operations.
Components Used:
• Arduino UNO (microcontroller)
• HC-05 Bluetooth module
• L298N motor driver
• DC gear motors
• 7805 voltage regulator
• 18650 Li-ion batteries with 3S charger
• Solar panel
• Wooden chassis
• Seed hopper mechanism
Benefits:
• Labor Efficiency: Reduces manual effort and time.
• Precision Farming: Ensures uniform seed placement for better yield.
• Cost-Effective: Lowers operational expenses by minimizing resource
wastage.
• Eco-Friendly: Promotes sustainability through solar integration.
• Scalability: Can be upgraded with advanced sensors for smart agriculture.
• Ease of Use: Controlled via smartphone app, making it accessible to farmers
with minimal training.
Applications:
• Small and medium-scale farming.
• Precision agriculture practices.
• Research and development in agri-automation.
Conclusion:
The Bluetooth-Controlled Seed Sowing Robot is a smart and sustainable solution
that merges technology with agriculture. By automating the seed sowing process,
it reduces dependency on labor, improves efficiency, and supports eco-friendly
farming. This project demonstrates the potential of automation to revolutionize
traditional agriculture and make farming smarter, cost-effective, and sustainable.
