Section A: Integers (1 – 14)


1. Simplify: (-32) + (45)

2. Simplify: (-18) – (–27)

3. Evaluate: (-12) × (–8)

4. Evaluate: (-90) ÷ (–15)

5. Multiply: (-7) × (–3) × (–2)

6. Simplify: (-25) + (–30) + (40)

7. Add: (-125) + (–75)

8. Subtract: (-250) – (–175)

9. Evaluate: [–36 ÷ 9] + (–5)

10. Simplify: (-50) + (25) – (15)

11. A lift is on the 5th floor. It goes down 9 floors. Which floor is it on now?

12. A submarine was at a depth of 350 m below sea level. It comes up 120 m. Find its new
depth.

13. The temperature in Shimla was –4°C. It dropped by 6°C at night. What is the new
temperature?

14. The sum of two integers is –95. If one number is –52, find the other.

Section B: Fractions (15 – 26)

16. Add: 3/5 + 4/15

31. Multiply: 8.4 × 3.5

36. Add: 5.85 + 7.036 + 12.4

37. Multiply: 0.64 × 0.25

38. A packet of rice weighs 5.25 kg. Find the weight of 12 such packets.

39. A man purchased 3.5 m of cloth at ₹120 per metre. Find the total cost.

40. A car covers 135.5 km in 2.5 hours. Find its speed per hour.
