Hello good people,

In this course, most of the lectures will be delivered in English since it is expected that you will gain
some benefits. First, you can be familiar with some English key terms. This will be helpful when you read
resources in English because you don't need to go back and forth on your dictionary which will be time-
consuming. In addition, by learning from lectures given in English, you can improve your English
proficiency which will be beneficial for your future career. Therefore, it is suggested that you expose
yourself to English so that you can easily understand the lectures.

To help you get a better understanding of the materials, there are some things I have prepared.
1. Clear syllabus
I have created a syllabus for our class and it will be uploaded on our Google Classroom. So please
check what topic we are going to have for each meeting. By knowing the topic, you can have time to
find out some information related to the topic and enrich your prior knowledge to get ready to learn
the topic.
2. Handout
I’ll provide a handout for you to review certain main points before the meeting. Make sure you read
and highlight some important key terms.
3. List of vocabulary for each topic
In that handout, I will also attach a list of key terms needed so you can easily understand if it’s
mentioned in the lecture.
4. Group discussion activity
There will be a group discussion activity by the end of the class to check your comprehension.

Here are some strategies you can use to get a better understanding of lectures delivered in English. First,
do a review before the meeting. You can check the syllabus to get to know what topic will be discussed
in each meeting and download the handout on our Google Classroom Class. Second, highlight unfamiliar
vocabulary. After reading the handout, put some marks on the unfamiliar term. Third, highlight the main
points. If you don’t understand a thing, you can highlight and search on the internet or you can ask the
lecturer at the meeting. The last, discuss it with your friends. You can share your idea with your friend to
get broaden your perspective about the topic beforehand.
