It is often argued that the internet is an important part of life in the modern world. I completely agree
with this view because it has transformed our lives significantly and simplified numerous daily tasks.

One of the main arguments against the internet is that it has made relationships more distant than
before. This is because we often spend too much time on smartphones, keeping up with the latest news,
trends on platforms such as Instagram and TikTok. For instance, on weekends, people usually go to a
café or restaurant to unwind, and spend time with friends and close relatives. However, if they
constantly use their phones, they can not truly rest or enjoy the moment fully.

The major advantage of the internet is that it has made shopping and travelling much easier. This
means that I can order anything online without leaving home and it will be delivered within a few days
regardless of where the store is located. In addition, travelling has become more convenient in a similar
way to shopping. This can be seen in the ability to book plane tickets online and even choose preferred
seats. Moreover, online check-in has reduced lengthy procedures at airports.

In conclusion, I strongly agree that the internet is indispensable, as without it, life would be more
complicated and less convenient. Therefore, it seems evident that the emergence of the internet has
made life more pleasant.

It is often argued that some schools should offer realistic work experience alongside academic subjects
so that students can gain exposure to real working situaions. I completely agree that practical
experiences are more essential than theory alone.

One of the main arguments is that individuals often lack practical skills and social knowledge when
they do not participate in real work situations. This is because students nowadays only learn theory in
classrooms without facing real problems in society and stepping out of their “safe zone”. For
example, in architecture, young learners need to visit construction sites, collect information and make
informed decisions, from conceptual design to detailed planning.

In my opinion, I agree that students at all levels should spend some time gaining practical experience
- through extracurricular activities for those aged under 13 and internship programmes for older
teenagers. This allows them to apply what they learn in theory and also discover which field suits them
best. A good illustration of this is many schools arrange extracurricular activities twice a semester,
which help students improve both their soft and hard skills.

To sum up, I strongly agree that schools should provide real work opportunities from some schools
since students need to practice as well as theory. Therefore, it is evident that spending a short time
working and joining internship will improve their life skills and better prepare them for future
profession.

Some people believe that young people should take a gap year to relax and discover themselves before
starting their careers, while others claim that it is an extravagant use of time and money. This essay
will discuss both perspectives before presenting my own.

On the one hand, many people believe that the ‘gap year’ is a waste of people’s time, money, and
effort. This is because practicing and developing soft skills is more beneficial for one’s career. While
some students spend time relaxing at a resort and ignore their future plans, others are already
submitting their CVs and gaining experience in competitive workplaces. For instance, most
postgraduate students readily prepare their CVs and submit them to company that match their
profession in order to gain valuable experience.

On the other hand, it is often argued that ‘gap year’ is a valuable opportunity, with young graduates
travelling to distant places before they commit to a demanding job. This is mainly because it helps
young people develop their interests, pursue their passions and understand how the world works.
For example, when they accomplish their university program, they need a period of time to rest both
mentally and physically before beginning a new phase. In my perspective, this view is more
convincing since gap year can be rewarding, as any kind of travel is a valuable experience that broaden
a person’s worldview.

In conclusion, although there are convincing arguments on both sides, I believe that a ‘gap year’ is
the period when many people can learn a great deal about the world around them. Ultimately taking a
‘gap year’ seems to be more beneficial and practical.

In recent years, the technology devices, especially television, have become increasingly widespread,
raising concerns about its influence on children. This essay will argue that while TV may contain
harmful content, its impact can be largely positive if appropriate measures are taken.

The main concern regarding television is the availability of inappropriate material. Violent or adult-
oriented films are sometimes broadcast during daytime hours when children most likely to watch. If
youngsters are exposed to such programs, they may imitate aggressive behavior or develop unhealthy
attitudes. Therefore, both broadcasters and parents must ensure that only age-appropriate content is
accessible.

One effective solution is parental supervision, including limiting screen time and encouraging
alternative activities. For instance, experts recommend that children between the ages of four and ten
should be restricted = limited to a maximum of three hours of television per day. Beyond this limit,
they should be motivated to participate in outdoor sports or social events, which contribute more
physical health and social development. In addition, governments could enforce stricter regulations
and promote educational channels that support children’s learning.

To sum up, television can be both beneficial and harmful to children. To maximize its positive
influence, parents and authorities should control viewing habits and promote programs that enrich
children’s education and personal growth.

Dạng: Problem-solution

Nowadays, traffic jams have become one of the most pressing challenges in urban cities. This essay will
examine the main cause of this problem and some suggest possible solutions to address it.

One of the major causes related to heavy traffic is the inconvenience of public transport. Many
commuters live far from their workplaces, buses and trains are often overcrowded, unreliable and too
expensive. For these reasons, they still prefer to take their own cars instead. A possible solution would
be reduced fares and improved the quality and frequency of services. For example, Singapore has
managed to encourage more citizens to rely on mass transit by investing in an efficient and
affordable subway system. This could be help to entice people back onto the bus, subway or
underground.

Another significant factor is the poor construction in major cities. This leads to the heavy traffic
because of narrow streets, ongoing drainage projects and frequent bottlenecks often result in severe
delays. To tackle this challenge, governments would allocate more funds from the state budget to
improve and expand many poor road networks. For instance, the Vietnamese government have to
upgrade the road infrastructure by increasing lanes, improving drainage systems during rainy seasons.

In conclusion, the inconvenience of public transport and poor road construction remain serious
concerns. However, these problems can be effectively addressed by improving the quality and
frequency of public transportation and upgrading road infrastructure.

Dạng: disagree-agree

It is often argued that imposing a tax on fast food can control the growing problem of obesity and poor
nutrition. I completely agree with this view because this may help to reduce the number of people who
regularly buy high fat, high salt food contains and also fast foods in convenient stores.

One of the main arguments is that some low socioeconomic classes do not have enough money to pay for
junk food has been taxed. This is because they were the bottom set of society so their personal incomes
also were not adequate to buy the tax on fast food. For example, in the USA, many homeless persons or
people who has low income inclined to buy this type of food as it often cheap and on special offer to feed
their families. Therefore, it is clear that some people may find it very hard to survive without these kinds
of cheap deals if it becomes more expensive and also would be unfair for them.

The major advantage of the income tax on fast food is help to reduce the number of people who keen on
the food that contain high levels of fat and too much salt. Moreover, if governments also put in some
measures to reduce the cost of fruits, vegetables and healthy foods, adding tax to junk food would work
better. For instance, especially in Japan, their governments prescribed some laws to ensure that healthier
foods were almost always cheapest option and people could buy them easily regardless of which their
social level in. As a result, it would be better for public health in nations.

In conclusion, I strongly agree that adding tax on junk food because in these kinds of foods have much
saturated fat and contain much salt that triggered to public health. Therefore, it seems evident that is the
best way to address many serious health problems especially diabetes, poor nutrition and obesity.

It is often argued that employees should work three or four days per week which would be more
advantageous than five or six days. I completely agree with this view because such a schedule would
benefit both staff and their corporations.
One of the main reasons why a shorter working week is preferable is that it allows employees more
time to rest both mentally and physically. For instance, having additional days off helps them
maintain a healthy work-life balance between their professions and pursue their interests. Moreover,
this enhances overall productivity. Therefore, it is clear that working fewer days consistently ensures
employees’ well-being while enhancing their performance.

Another significant reason is that a shorter week creates a dynamic environment to stimulate
employees’ creativity and reduce operational costs for companies. This means that they may become
drained both physically and mentally if work for five or six days. What’s more, that way should
reduce corporate expenses for working conditions such as printers, air conditioners and computers. As a
result, both employers and employees can benefit from increased efficiency and cost savings.

To sum up, I strongly agree that working for three or four days per week is more advantageous than
working five or six. Therefore, it seems apparent that it is the best way that not only helps improve
employees’ health and creativity but also brings economic benefits to their organizations.

Some people believe that sports celebrities are becoming increasingly well-known and wealthy, which
benefits both individuals and the nation, while others claim that this trend is harmful effects. This
essay will discuss both perspectives before presenting my own opinion.

On the one hand, many people believe that the fame of athletes make up a serious influence on society
and also to economy because it can lead to many illegal behaviors that will worsen society and
financial system. This is supported by the fact that some well-known athletes abuse their reputation to
gain more fame and fortune. For example, in some football matches, a few players have been caught
selling games for money.

On the other hand, it is often argued that many athletes becoming more renowned and richer is
beneficial for both individuals and for their countries. This is mainly because their reputation can
boost the economy and raise the profile of their national sports team. Moreover, also their fame can
also attract significant financial resources. For instance, Ronaldo has been an exclusive representative
for global brands such as Romano, which brings in substantial funds for him and raises the profile of
his football team. In my perspective, this view is convincing since that trend is more advantageous for
athletes, the national economy, and sports teams.

In conclusion, although there are convincing arguments on both sides, I believe that well-known athletes
set the best example for other players. Ultimately, the phenomenon of some sports stars becoming
increasingly wealthy contributes to raising the profile of their teams.

It is often argued that having a well-paying job is more advantageous than having personally comforting
ones. I completely agree with this view because in recent years, the cost of meeting socioeconomic needs
has been rising significantly.

One of the major reasons why I agree is that many socioeconomic demands can be met through well-
paying jobs. This is because a well-paid job, which provides financial stability, work-life balance, and
gain social status. For instance, those who have disposable income can access to healthcare and education
such as some courses of fitness center, some international schools for their children. Therefore, it is clear
that a high-paying job will improve our living standards.

Another significant reason is that high-income jobs encourage individuals to improve their education and
skills. This means that if we want to have a job with high financial rewards, we should enhance our
professional skills, pursue career advancement. For example, many FTU postgraduates in Vietnam are
offered attractive salaries of some major corporations. Well-paid positions often offer greater
opportunities for upward career mobility. As a result, salaries are always commensurate with
qualifications.

To sum up, I strongly agree that a decent-paying job is more advantageous than having a passion-
fulfilling job, because a well-paid job contributes significantly to people’s long-term well-being rather
than a strong sense of purpose in passion-fulfilling careers. Therefore, it seems evident that salaries often
reflect both our qualifications and quality of life.

In today's world, some people argue that research on animals is intolerable and should be prevented,
while others believe it plays a crucial role in significant scientific breakthroughs. This essay will
answer the questions of can observation on animals can be ethically accepted and explore potential
alternatives.

In response to the first question, the main reason is that we can discover some ways to treat critical
illness such as cancer by animal experiments. This is because the genomes of many animals are quite
similar to the human genome. For instance, we can manufacture some antibodies and vaccines from
the milk of rabbits, and zebrafish have been used to study spinal cord regeneration.

Turning to the second question, I would argue that we also have many other alternatives that are
possible than experimentation on animals. This can be explained by the fact that some researchers
investigated ways to use some genetically modified plant. For example, some methods for producing
edible vaccines into potatoes and tomatoes. When these plants are eaten, they produce antibodies to
fight the pathogen such as viruses or bacteria.

To sum up, the main reasons for some therapies from animal research is to develop treatments for
some serious human illness. As for the second question, I believe that the investigation from
genetically modified plants represent a possible alternative way.

Intolerable = unacceptable = unsupportable = impossible

Crucial = very important = significant = major

It is often argued that some unacademic faculties should be eliminated from the school curriculum so
that students can devote more time to academic pursuits. I completely disagree with this view because
such subjects are essential for developing soft skills and maintaining well-being.

One of the major reasons why I disagree is that they help students build potential soft skills. For
example, through physical education or team sports, pupils learn how to cooperate with others, manage
conflicts, and enhance leadership qualities. These abilities cannot be gained solely from academic
lessons, which usually emphasize individual performance. In the future workplace, employers often
value teamwork and communication as much as technical knowledge. Therefore, students who practice
such skills early on may have more opportunities to succeed in their careers.
Apart from that, another reason is that some non-academic subjects such as physical education and
cookery or electrical study are also essential for the lives of young people. This means that for some
young people, they contribute to students’ health and personal passions. For instance, physical
education prevents sedentary lifestyles and reduces the risk of illnesses such as obesity or diabetes.
Meanwhile, creative subjects like cookery, art or music allow young people to pursue their interests and
refresh their minds after long hours of academic study.

In conclusion, I strongly disagree that we should remove some non-academic subjects from student's
curriculum to focus on their academic faculties. Therefore, maintaining a balance between academic
and non-academic activities is crucial for both physical well-being and emotional development.

School syllabus = school curriculum = student’s curriculum

Non-academic subjects = unacademic faculties = non-academic activities

Academic subjects = academic pursuits = academic lessons = academic study = academic faculties =
academic activities = technical knowledge

Eliminated = removed

Maintaining = continue = keep going = support

Well-being = welfare = good health = success = fruitful

Leadership qualities = phẩm chất lãnh đạo

Sedentary lifestyles = lối sống ít vận động = lối sống thụ động
It is often argued that more people nowadays prefer reading the news on the internet rather than
traditional newspapers. I completely agree with this view because online platforms provide greater
convenience and affordability.

One of the main reasons why I agree is that the easy accessibility of e-newspapers. This is because people
can keep up with the latest updates anytime and anywhere as long as they have an internet connection.
Moreover, the electronic newspapers are suitable for all age groups and interests. For instance, even
elderly individuals can access breaking news on their smartphones while travelling with relatives, which
would be impossible with printed newspapers.

Another significant reason is that digital newspapers are more cost-effective and suitable for all
socioeconomic classes. Not everyone is willing to spend money on printed newspapers when e-
newspapers are either free and inexpensive. What's more, digital platforms allow readers to search for
their preferred topics. For example, science or space enthusiasts can instantly access articles related to
their professions while traditional newspapers offer limited options.

To sum up, I strongly agree that the online news websites are becoming more popular than printed
newspapers because of their accessibility and low cost. Therefore, people from different socioeconomic
backgrounds can currently access to breaking news and the latest information.
It is often argued that governments should prioritize urgent domestic needs instead of investing heavily in
space researches. I completely agree with this view because such spending brings limited benefits
compared to improvements in essential public services.

The main reasons why governments spend their money on space is that exploring planets such as Mars
may provide humanity with an alternative place to live in case of natural disasters and wars. For example,
in Afghanistan war from 2001 to 2021 with Russia, many places were war-ravaged by guns and
ammunition so their residents did not have any places to turn over a new leaf. However, this goal is highly
uncertain and requires billions of dollars, while millions of people still lack basic necessities such as food,
housing and healthcare.

More importantly, governments should allocate their budgets to pressing domestic needs rather than space
programs. This means that many countries still require better healthcare, education, and public
infrastructure such as hospitals, parks, and schools. For instance, Vietnamese government has invested in
Military Hospital 175 in Ho Chi Minh City, allowing residents to receive treatment in modern facilities.
Such projects directly improve citizens’ quality of life, which is far more urgent than uncertain
discoveries in outer space.

To sum up, I strongly agree that governments should focus enhancing essential public services of their
nations rather than investing in space exploration. Therefore, it seems evident that residents’ needs can be
better met from that approach and contribute to long-term national development.
It is often argued that it would be a good idea for all nations to adopt mandatory military service for both
young men and women after they leave their school. I completely agree with this view because such a
system offers significant benefits to both the government and its.

One of the main reasons I agree is that this approach will provides each nation many benefits such as a
large military forces and national guard that is in a constant state of readiness. This is because in an
unfortunate situation such as in warfare, the country will have a large number of trained personnel to
defend it against enemies. For instance, in conflict between Russia with Ukraine in 2014, Russia was
well-prepared such as military devices and combatant forces and their army like navy and air force, while
Ukraine did not anticipate the war and did not have a comparable military force.

Another significant reason is that compulsory military services help both young men and women who
have jusst graduated to develop essential interpersonal skills. This means that young people enter a
disciplined military environment, they can be learned to become more responsible and self-aware. For
example, through strict rules and routines, young people who may be immature are taught discipline,
teamwork and independence. As a result, compulsory military services should enhance both hard and soft
skills in young people.

To sum up, I strongly agree that many governments should implement their rigorous military service for
both men and women because this approach brings significant advantages to both the nation and its
individual citizens.
