Differentiated Teaching Strategies in Class

Teacher Grace implemented performance-based group activities like acting, drawing, and rapping, allowing students to choose tasks that matched their strengths and interests. The activities catered to learners' diversity by offering various ways to express understanding and were differentiated based on individual talents rather than gender. To further enrich the activity, technology-based options and flexible groupings would be introduced to ensure inclusivity and relatability for all learners.

PROBING
1. What kind of activities were given by Teacher Grace? How did she differentiate the
activities?
- Teacher Grace used performance-based group activities such as acting,
drawing, and rapping. She differentiated the activities by allowing learners
to choose tasks that aligned with their strengths and interests — artistic,
kinesthetic, or musical.

2. Did the activity correspond to learners’ diversity? Why or why not?
- Yes. The activity corresponded well to learners’ diversity because it
provided multiple ways for students to express their understanding. It
recognized that learners have different talents and learning preferences.

3. Was Teacher Grace able to use differentiated teaching strategies to suit the
learners’ gender, needs, strengths, interests, and experiences? If yes, can you cite
some?
- Yes. She grouped the learners based on their strengths and interests
instead of gender. For example, students who enjoyed performing joined the
acting group, while visual learners joined the drawing group. This approach
respected individual differences and encouraged engagement.

4. If you were to enrich the same activity, how would you ensure that learners’ diversity is
addressed?
- I would include technology-based options such as creating a short video or digital
poster to accommodate learners who are more comfortable using gadgets. I
would also provide flexible groupings so learners can collaborate with peers who
complement their skills. Lastly, I would make sure the topics and examples are
inclusive and relatable to all genders and backgrounds.
