Crochet in cont inuous spirals wit hout joining t he rounds!
Put a marker (or use a scrap of contrast ing yarn) at the beginning of each round.
The finished product using a 6 mm crochet hook is ~ 9 . 8 inches / 25 cm.
THE REQUIRED MATERIALS:
- i u s e d Chuncky Chenille yarn
Black / Orange / White
-Dark Orange Velvet yarn (I chose the dark orange yarn thinner than the others because I
want to make a smaller heart, and we'll also use a smaller crochet hook)
- Dark Green Velvet Yarn
- Orange thin cotton yarn for Pumpkin Embroidery
- 6 mm crochet hook (or any different crochet hook t hat ma t ches your yarn)
- 4 mm crochet hook for the Pumpkin Stem and the heart
- 1 safet y eye 1.02 inches / 26 mm
- stuffing material (fiberfill/polyest er)
ABBREVIATIONS
st(s) = stitch(es).
mr, sc n = magic ring - start with an adjustable loop and crochet n (number) single crochet
stitches into the adjustable loop
ch = chain stitch.
sl st = slip stitch (single crochet stitch in UK and Australia).
sc = single crochet stitch (double crochet stitch in UK and Australia).
sc (or sl st, ch, hdc etc.) n = make n single crochet stitches (or sl st, ch, hdc etc.), one in each stitch.
hdc = half double crochet
sc + sl st = crochet sc and then sl st in the same stitch.
inc = increase crochet two single crochet stitches in the same stitch.
dc = double crochet
tr =triple crochet
dec = decrease crochet two stitches together using the invisible decrease method
(sc 4, inc) x n = repeat the pattern between parentheses n times.
(36) = number of stitches in a round after finishing round.

Finish. With the help of a needle, close the last stitches.
At this point, cut a long piece of yarn because we will use it to shape the pumpkin. With the help of a
long needle, pass it through to the other side and back again, pulling the yarn and using your fingers
to press the center to avoid breaking the yarn. Go back again to tie a knot and hide the yarn. (For this
step, I used a curved needle; otherwise, it's difficult to pass tightly through the stitch.)
PUMPKIN EMBROIDERY
With the thin cotton yarn used double, we will make the various segments. Enter from the bottom and leave
a tail for sewing when you have finished embroidering the segments. Gently pull each time to shape it.
When you are done, always exit from the bottom and tie a knot. If you haven't left the yarn long enough to
embroider all the segments, you can do it in two steps, tying a knot at the bottom and attaching it to the tail
left at the beginning. No problem.

Sew on top of the pumpkin

Close with a slip stitch, leaving a long tail for sewing to the body.
Insert the eye between round 4-5
Stuff the head
Sew to the body
Use pins when positioning the various parts so you can secure
them in the desired position, then proceed to sew.

Fold the work in half and sew along the entire semicircle to keep the two parts together.
Finish. Leave a long thread. Sew to the body
TAIL
BLACK YARN
To create the tail, we start by working directly from the body.
Insert the crochet hook into the bottom part of the pumpkin and pull up the yarn, remaining with a
loop on the hook.
From here, work 3 single crochets.
Turn the work (having to go back, flip the work because we must always work from right to left).
Make 2 single crochets.
Turn the work.
Make the last single crochet.
Finished, bring the yarn to the bottom to tie a knot and hide the thread.
WITH WHITE YARN
Embroider the eye scar. Enter from the side of the head, do the
embroidery, and exit from the same stitch where you entered to
tie a knot and hide the thread.
HEART
WITH DARK ORANGE YARN (VELVET)
Make a magic ring then chain 3
Make 3 treble crochet
4 double crochet
chain 2
4 double crochet
3 treble crochet
chain 3
slip stitch
Position the heart wherever you prefer
To give it an extra touch, as if it were a patch, use the thread in the color
of your choice and make some purely decorative stitches
