the bean1 is 300 mm X 600 mm. The bean1 is reinforced with 4 bars of 20 mm diameter
on tension side and 2 bars of 20 mm dian1eter on compression side. Determine the
maximum superimposed uniformly distributed load the beam can carry if grade of
concrete and steel is M-20 and Fe-415.

2. A reinforced concrete beam is simply supported over a span of 6 m. The cross section of
the beam is 300 mm X 600 mm. Determine the maximum superimposed uniformly

1. A reinforced concrete beam is simply supported over a span of 8 m on a supports of


width 300 mm. The cross section of the beam is 300 mm X 600 mm. The beam is
reinforced with 4 bars of 20 mm diameter on tension side and 2 bars of 20 mm diameter
on compression side. It is also reinforced with 2 - legged vertical stirrups of 8 mm
diameter at 250 mm c/c throughout the span. Detennine moment carrying capacity and
shear carrying capacity of the berun. Also determine the maximum superimposed
uniformly distributed load the beam can carry if grade of concrete and steel is M-20 and
