PROCEDURE TEXT
Procedure text is any written English text in which the writer describes how
something is accomplished through a sequence of action or step.
Its social function is to describe how something is completely done through a sequence of
actions or steps.
Generic Structure of procedure text:
1. Goal : showing the purpose of doing instruction
2. Material : telling the needed materials (ingredients, utensils, equipment to do the
instruction)
3. Steps : describing the steps to achieve the purpose
The significant lexicogrammatical features:
Focus on generalized human agents
Use of imperative, simple present tense
Example: Cut, mix etc
Use of temporal conjunction
Example: First, second, then, after that, next, finally, etc.
Use of adverbial phrase
Example: For five minutes, 2 cm from the tops, for a while

Prepare your:

Steps:
1. First, Connect the charger to your hand phone, the flash symbol on the charger plug must face
upward.
2. Second, Wait until the battery icon appears on the screen.
3. Then, Charge the battery approximately 5 hours or until the battery icon indicates that the
battery is fully charged.
4. Finally, Remove the charger by pulling out from your hand phon
Generic Structure:

Let me show you ways to use it. First, you need to prepare a washing machine, water, detergent powder,
large bucket.
Here are some steps.
First, fill the water into the washing machine, mix the water with the detergent powder and then
put the dirty cloth into the machine. At the point, turn on the machine to rinse the clothes inside and wait
for about 15 minutes until the clothes are clean. After the clothes are clean, pour the dirty water out then
change with the fresh water .To make sure that the clothes are clean enough, turn on the machine again in
a few minutes. After the machine off, pick the clean clothes out and then put them into the drier tube and
turn the drier button on .Wait until the machine stop. Now the clothes are dry. Put the dry clothes in to the
bucket. To make sure that the clothes are dry enough you can hang them on the hanger.
