Sedna
Asteroid 90377, Sedna, was discovered on November 14, 2003 by Chad Trujillo, Michael E. Brown, and
David Rabinowitz at Palomar Observatory near Pauma Valley, California. Sedna, a Kuiper Belt Object,
has an extremely long period: 12,795 years (and 207 days).
Sedna was named for the goddess of the sea in Inuit mythology.
Astrologically, Sedna seems to indicate the sea and marine life, the web of life, nature,
extinction/conservation, rage, being "too good for" admirers or relationships, vanity, narcissism; to
appease, mollify or be diplomatic; dealing with anger; coming from a "burned" or "frozen" place
(Marcus Wellman); nurturance; "way out there" (Jonathan Dunn); bizarreness, delusion, unknown
or remote places; loneliness; disease; loss of, or loss of function in the hands.
El Paso private detective Jay J. Armes (born Julian Armas on August 12, 1932 in El Paso), who became
very successful in his field despite having prosthetic steel hooks instead of hands (which he blew off
when he was 12 playing with dynamite) has Sedna conjunct Dioretsa, semisextile the North Node,
quincunx the South Node, trine the Sun, quincunx Heracles (a mythic feat), parallel Elatus and Damocles,
and contraparallel Hylonome.
Mary Vincent (born May 17, 1963) as a troubled runaway teen in 1978 was picked up in California by
Lawrence Singleton, who raped her, hacked off her arms, and left her for dead beside the highway near
Modesto. He was given a relatively lenient sentence, but communities all over California refused to take
him when he was paroled, and he ended up leaving the state; as a result, Vincent lived in fear for decades,
until she finally helped put him behind bars for good after he was convicted in Florida of murdering a
prostitute. He died of cancer on death row. Mary Vincent has Sedna conjunct Venus (socialization) and
square Rhadamanthus (up to somebody else).
Heavy-metal guitar legend Tony Iommi (born February 19, 1948, in Birmingham, England) had to make
adjustments to the way he played his instrument after losing the tips of his fingers in an industrial
accident when he was just starting out in the music business. These changed the sound of the band
entirely and forced a change of genre, from blues to heavy metal, at which Iommi and the band have been
much more successful. He has Sedna conjunct Deucalion (hard, tough, working to save something),
semisextile Pallas (conceptualization), sextile Orcus (to seize opportunities, act as a leader), Uranus
(innovation), and 2002 AW197 (the design or structure of something), and opposite Don Quixote (to
attack barriers) and Pandora (making a splash, having an impact, unintended consequences).
Stephen King has Sedna in the tenth house of career and reputation, sextile Hylonome (popular appeal),
square Hidalgo, Pholus (to permeate, to be respectful) and Huya (something missing), and contraparallel
the Sun (to shine), Venus and Pallas.
H.P. Lovecraft had Sedna conjunct Talos, sextile Jupiter, Neptune, Pluto, and Varuna, trine Cyllarus,
quincunx Saturn, and parallel the Moon, Venus and Ascendant.
19th-century American horror writer Fitz-James O'Brien (born December 31, 1828, in Limerick, Ireland)
had Sedna conjunct Huya, semisextile Ixion (inventive), square Lilith (dark, arational), and quincunx
Asbolus (awful things).
Eccentric surrealist painter Salvador Dali, who endured his wife and muse Gaia's numerous infidelities,
had Sedna in the tenth house, sextile Hylonome and Chaos, square the Ascendant (personal interests),
trine Quaoar (something seminal, very interesting) and parallel Juno (marriage partner).
Jimmy Carter, who made no secret of being a devout Christian and did what he could to nurture the
environment, has Sedna in the seventh house, on the Descendant, conjunct Nessus, semisextile Orcus (to
inspire, to lead, "seizing the day") and Okyrhoe (acting according to one's own vision), trine Jupiter
(religion), and parallel the Sun (to shine, to lead, chief executive) and Pallas (politics) as well as opposite
the Ascendant.
Rachel Carson, who endured intense and scurrilous personal attacks to awaken the world to the impact of
pesticides on the environment, had Sedna conjunct Rhadamanthus (ethical, a judge), semisquare Vesta
(commitment, focus), sextile Huya and Mercury, square Ceres (to nurture), Neptune (chemicals, lies),
Jupiter (publishing), and Uranus (awakening), and opposite Pholus (need to show respect, courage before
power).
Famed marine explorer and conservationist Jacques Cousteau had Sedna conjunct Ceres and square
Deucalion (submerged, to attempt to save).
Jacques Piccard (born July 28, 1922 in Brussels), who with Don Walsh made the first descent to the
deepest part of the ocean, Challenger Deep, had Sedna conjunct Pelion (having to deserve something,
initiation), sextile Damocles (danger, crisis), trine Neptune (the sea), and quincunx Venus.
Primate behaviorist Dian Fossey (born January 16, 1932, in San Francisco), who gave her life defending
the gorillas she worked with in Rwanda, had Sedna conjunct Uranus and Dioretsa (something that sticks,
off course), square Juno (public persona) and Phaethon, and quincunx Quaoar (feeling compelled to do
something, in the spotlight, under the microscope).
Famously reclusive movie star Greta Garbo had Sedna in the third house, on the IC, conjunct
Rhadamanthus (to act as a judge), semisextile Chariklo (glamorization, need to keep perspective) and
Ceres (to let go, to nurture), sextile Deucalion (to save something), Huya (something missing), Hylonome
(popular appeal), Heracles (a mighty feat) and Hidalgo (to assert), square Neptune (motion pictures,
mystery), trine Pandora (making a splash, having an impact), and quincunx Vesta (dedication).
Mae West, another great actress of old Hollywood, had numerous lovers, but never lived with her
husband, fellow vaudevillian Frank Wallace, who she married in 1911 and divorced in 1942; she claimed
she never even married him but had to go to court to divorce him just the same. She had Sedna in the
eleventh house, conjunct Pallas (conceptualization), sextile Varuna (grown big), and quincunx Pandora
and Lilith (something repressed or marginalized, female lust).
Linda Ronstadt, a self-reliant person who has dated but never married and has had to deal with slanderous

Sedna 90377
Sedna was the goddess of the sea and marine animals in the mythology of the Native
American Inuit people, ruler of the underworld, who dwells in the deepest, most
inaccessible part of the Arctic Ocean.
Originally human, Sedna was a prideful, spoilt child who refused to grow up, turning
down offers of marriage from every man in her village, which frustrated her father.
One day a stranger came, and her father agreed to give Sedna to him as wife, in
exchange for fish. He gives Sedna a sleeping potion and the stranger carries her off to
an island nest, where he reveals his true form as a bird-spirit. Sedna is trapped on
the island, surrounded by birds, and miserable. Her father regrets his actions and
comes to save her, but the furious bird-spirit sends a storm after them, which
threatens to sink their craft. In desperation, her father attempts to throw her into
the sea, but Sedna clings to the side of the boat. Her father hacks off her fingers, one
by one, and as they float to the sea bottom, they become transformed into marine
animals, seals, otters and whales. At last Sedna herself sinks into the deeps,
becoming a half-human, half-fish deity whom the Inuit propitiate when attempting a
successful hunt. The name Sedna was given to a TNO (Trans-Neptunian Object) in the
Kuiper Belt region of the solar system, near Pluto.
Astrologically, Sedna represents isolation and inaccessibility; separation; having too
high an opinion of oneself; aloofness or haughtiness; a refusal to “grow up” and
accept adult responsibility.
90377 Sedna–Betrayal By Men, beginning with the father
From <[Link]
“Sedna is evil. A Sedna business will leave its customers in the gutter after it has taken all their
money and stripped them of self-dignity. Sedna symbolizes drugs and prostitutes, products that
promote violence and or emotionless sex. Sedna is so insidious that it helps nobody. During so-called
“good transits” by Sedna, a person will make money – but the profits will corrupt the
person’s soul to the very core. And then Sedna will eat the person alive.” [Magi
Astrology]
“Sedna’s myth may exemplify a female who does not want to commit in marriage, participate with
men, or even be here on Earth, due to her fear of being hurt–an unresolved issue or molding
from her unfortunate past, one that only perpetuates a life of loneliness. “ [Lunar
Planner]
“The encounter with what has been lost, drowned out, or frozen long ago… In other words, our own
‘Ice Age’: the wounds in the soul caused by the impatience, condemnation, dismissal or anger of the
father; the living hell of unresolved outrage; the violence of hardship where we cut off from what is
desperate and vulnerable in ourselves or others in order to survive. “ [Melanie Reinhart]
“Sedna swims into your life to tell you to stop being a victim. The way to wholeness is to recognize
how you’ve been caught up in and are living the victim archetype, then to change the pattern by
empowering yourself.
Are you fond of saying, “Why is this happening to me?” Don’t get stuck in the “why”. … Sedna says
we have all been victimized by something, by patriarchal institutions, discrimination based on race,
gender, sexual preference, religion, or color. She encourages you to claim your power “ [Lynn
Koiner]
“The goddess Sedna teaches us that we must delve into the dark, cold places that we fear most if we
are to find the riches that rest there. Sedna reminds us that, in spite of all our infirmities and our
foolish mistakes, we are still worthy of love and respect and have every right to expect, and even
demand, that others treat us well” [Goddess Gift]

Through (90377) Sedna, the interaction with other living beings is characterized by
the reduction of the differences between high and low in a process of equalization
that guarantees the dignity of treatment for all forms of life (3:2 resonance with the
hypothetical 'Planet 9').
(90377) Sedna combines the resonant leadership (scattered disc objects with
medium aphelion) with the spiritual intelligence (inner Oort cloud objects), which
allows to understand intuitively how every living creature is part of the global
ecosystem and plays a unique role in the process of evolution and development of
other species.
The emotions that are generated during the interaction, exert a subtle influence on
the environment, making easy to develope activities in a harmonious manner and in
an atmosphere of happiness.
"Spirit - Stallion of the Cimarron" (2002)
Osho, spiritual master, had Sedna in Aries and in the 1st Moon-Node House; in
conjunction with Uranus; in trine with the Sun in Sagittarius and in the 4th Moon-
Node House; and in square with the Moon in Capricorn and in the 3rd Moon-Node
House.

Sedna: Sedna is a newly discovered planetoid, and the furthest out identified object
that is still a member of our solar system. Mythologically, Sedna is an Inuit Goddess
of the deep seas. She represents creative ability that is kept to oneself, talents that
express only when forced or through pain. She can be willful, immature and
narcissistic in orientation. She represents the best abilities in oneself that are also the
most difficult to access, integrate and give conscious expression out in life.
From <[Link]
Sedna represents the products of creativity withheld, temperamental passive
aggression and the potential for self-sabotage through vanity and spiteful actions. She
is shallow and stubborn in perception, duped by a glamorous illusion into giving away
the best of herself. Her creativity is delivered only by violence and dismemberment; in
the end she is left with no way to fend for herself. Sedna is strongly represented in my
natal chart, and I have felt her breathing down my neck. She conjuncts my natal
Mercury in the twelfth house within 1°, the two planets forming the tip of a kite aspect
pattern that encompasses the best of my own creative drive. True to the tenets of the
myth, the ability to communicate creatively has often been self-blocked;
communications tend to be forcibly ejected from the basement of psyche in sporadic
degrees, in consistently refined upon the larger stage of life.
Perhaps where Sedna is in your own natal chart, is where the best of your own
potential is held back, kept from the light of day. The reasons always sound good; not
enough time, patience, equipment, money- They don't understand me, karmic doom
rules, my health is fragile, modesty prevents, self-medication prevails, etc. But in back
of it all is an immature disinclination to meet the world on its terms, to petulantly
refuse stepping up to the plate and meeting the challenge of uniting personal
inspiration within a form of presentation (book, painting, career change, web site, diet,
dismantling a compulsion or obsession,) that the general public or even just your
family can applaud. Fortunately, the progeny of deep inner quickening can still be
brought forth into material bounty; the shaman within must be able make the descent
to calm and beautify neglected parts of the raging soul. But beware the shape-shifting
demon that betrays your finest efforts, for that is the ego.

(90377) Sedna represents the capability to relate to everything that is very different
of one is (specie, race, age, culture, social status), like in the movies "Lost in
Translation" (2003), "Brother Bear" (Disney, 2004) or like 5th mutable line of the
11th hexagram of I-Ching.
(90377) Sedna combines the emotional and social intelligence of the scattered disc
objects (perihelion) with the spiritual intelligence of the inner Oort cloud objects
(aphelion).

Until recently, astrologers were still trying to convince one another that the further out a planet is, the
less personal it is. There may still be validity to the idea, but it was the extremely direct, personal
implications of Pluto that I believe ended that discussion.
All planets have personal effects, if only through society that we must participate in. Still, we must
reckon with the notion that distance from the Sun means something. Sedna in one of her expressions
seems to point directly to collective and global issues: the warming of the planet, the death of the seas,
whether the population eats.
But she is personified in the story of a young girl and her relationship to her family, as well as to her
perception of herself, her feelings about men and her emotional needs. Sedna seems to reach so deep
into the psyche that she shows up in our most conscious awareness of our soul, and is likely to be a
force that guides us there through the experiences she brings.

Astrological Delineation
What I find the most interesting about this story is that it's about the creation of a god where humans
are doing the creating. I know of no other such myth associated with any creation god or goddess
among the named planets.
Sedna's preoccupation with her own beauty but total disinterest in men is significant in our times.
Perhaps that quality makes sense given who she is revealed to be, once the story is borne out. Yet there
are many women today, of many ages, who feel they are too good for men and that men are demons in
disguise.
The dynamics between the father and his daughter deserve a much closer look: he perceives her as
property to claim or discard as he pleases. There is obviously a relationship between that and the way
we treat one another, and the world.
We could also ask: who were these people? They predate the gods, or at least Sedna, a primordial
goddess. Were they proto-people, or deities themselves, disguised as humans just as Sedna's husband
was a demon disguised as a human?
Melanie Reinhart, in her article "The Goddess of the Frozen Waters," writes of Sedna, "The encounter
with what has been lost, drowned out, or frozen long ago is her theme, which can be taken most
fruitfully on the inner levels. In other words, our own 'Ice Age' is being highlighted here: the wounds in
the soul caused by the impatience, condemnation, dismissal or anger of the father; the living hell of
unresolved outrage; the violence of hardship where we cut off from what is desperate and vulnerable in
ourselves or others in order to survive. And how this harshness is internalized."
She continues, "Even in the face of unrelenting trauma and suffering, we can, indeed must, beat our
drum and sing to life. This is not a plea for escapism, but rather an acknowledgment that the Work is
about keeping our heart open in hell. Sedna's story is about acknowledging just how bad things really
feel, and starting from there. Radical acceptance is demanded. Allowing love and harmony into our lives
(symbolized by the Star of David) may mean opening to the frozen places inside where we are conflicted
and feel unloving. To try and manufacture joy is to metaphorically cut off our own fingers."

Sedna represents fear: the fear of too little food, of abandoning one’s child, of forcefully violently
abandoning someone you love through necessity, of being abandoned, of global warming, GM crops,
capitalism run amok, totalitarianism, child abuse, war, terrorism, – Sedna represents our fears as a
society and an individual but it also represents our responses to those fears.
The mythology of Sedna encompasses the worst fears of a society living on the edge of existence
where hunger and starvation were realities faced often, living with real fear that can happen at any
point necessitated Sedna in her role as representing the worst that could happen being soothed and
placated. If there is no Sedna to placate then nothing is possible for only in placation of Sedna are we
capable of achieving anything. She is the monster lying in wait under the bed that stops us getting up
during the night and the stranger that passes to close to us at night in the dark. She is the scapegoat
of society, single parents, disabled, illegal immigrants, Islamic fundamentalists, whatever you fear is
destroying society, Democrats, republicans, Fundamentalist Christians, we all have our own Sedna and
whether we placate her through appeasement or vilification, violence and war understanding her is
important. Sedna represents our fears thus she represents ourselves as well our ideas of what we
fear, these give Sedna life, we color her in the image of our nightmares. We also project our
nightmarish creation on to others and demonize them.
Sedna at heart represents our own fears and what we do with those fears, how we respond to them
and face them or how we project them onto a convenient scapegoat, Sedna in aspect to the planets in
the chart make us face our inner demons and address the issues we have with our own fears.

Sedna Taurus
Greed and materialism will have consequences. How do you make yourself miserable with your wants
and needs for creature comforts? Do you go into debt deeper than you can possibly dig out of without
assistance and then expect someone else to bail you out?
Sedna 7th
What are your expectations in relationships versus what you’re willing to give? Are your expectations
unrealistic? When they’re not met, do you martyrize over the lack rather than appreciating what you
have?
Sedna represents our ultimate freedom of spirit, and tendency to fall victim to our own vulnerability,
deceit and betrayal. By rising above the illusion that we accept as reality we can strive to strengthen our
connection with a new feminine current of spiritual energy. As a goddess Sedna was a bridge between
the human world and the shamanic animal kingdom. She looked after her people by providing food for
them from the oceans. The seals and other marine life that formed that food were born of the goddess
herself, so here we see a direct connection between the goddess her people and the Earth. In return for
her generosity the Goddess required adherence to spiritual practices and punished any transgressions
by withdrawing her support. Here lies the parallel between humanity spiritual progression and Gaia. As
the goddess is rediscovered she awakens our spirituality and reminds us that it is through communion
with the ecology of our own planet that we will become part of the feminine current that will ensure our
spiritual evolution and become elevated to the realm of the Shaman.

Sedna in the signs
This is an extract taken from Sedna Consciousness by Alan Clay. Available in Kindle and paperback editions.
By mid-Sedna year, when she was in Libra and approaching the full moon phase of her orbital cycle, almost as
far from Earth as possible, the first fully developed manifestation of the Neolithic revolution could be seen in
the Middle Eastern Sumerian cities where it first emerged, also heralding the beginning of the Bronze Age.
The movement of Sedna into Scorpio, the sign of sex and death, around 3000 BC, signalled the rise of the
Ancient Egyptian civilisation, with the building of the pyramids and a religion which was in essence a cult of
the dead. During the Sagittarius sojourn, in the sign of law and education, the Greek Miracle brought forth
the early sciences, the arts and the concept of democracy.
Jump forward to modern times, and for a hundred years prior to 1965, the transit of Sedna through Aries (the
sign of will, force and war) saw the World Wars of the first half of the 20th century and the growing threat
and reality of atomic war. With the Sedna ingress into Taurus in 1965, the emphasis turned to money and
property, to greed and questions of value. To the slogan "make love, not war", to environmentalism and
global warming, which have become driving economic factors in modern times.
Sedna in Gemini: 2024 to 2068
We're currently in what we're calling a digital revolution, the Sedna in Taurus phase. And with Sedna's entry
into Gemini in 2024, it is likely that this will morph more into a consciousness revolution. That's a bold and,
dare I say it, hopeful claim, and anything I write about Sedna in Gemini at this stage is pure speculation. But
because the sign is Gemini, we do know that it's going to have to do with the mind, with intellectual debate,
opinions, and communication.
One of the discovery events of 2003, which I link to Sedna, is the development of neural networks, which is
the basis of Artificial Intelligence. Ray Kurzweil is a scientist, inventor and futurist, who made a series of
predictions in the 1990s. All his predictions to date have been realised. So here are some for this Gemini
period:
"By the 2030s, virtual reality will begin to feel 100% real. We will be able to upload our mind/consciousness
by the end of the decade. By the 2040s, non-biological intelligence will be a billion times more capable than
biological intelligence. Nanotech foglets (micro-robots – known as 'smart material') will be able to
make food out of thin air and create any object in the physical world at a whim. By
2045, we will multiply our intelligence a billion-fold by linking wirelessly from our
neocortex to a synthetic neocortex in the cloud." (From a 26 January 2015 article on
[Link] by Peter Diamandis.)
We see that Sedna in Gemini is going to be all about the rise of Artificial Intelligence which will inevitably
promote a consciousness revolution. And a consciousness revolution is a spiritual revolution.
Sedna myth interpretation
Another way we derive meaning for newly discovered planets is to look at the myth behind the name of the
planet. Sedna was named after the Inuit goddess of the sea, and interestingly the Inuits did not believe in
divinity: to them the gods were alive and part of this world, not dead and in heaven as we tend to think of
them.
The varying legends each give different rationales for Sedna's transcendence, but in each version, her father,
or 'the people', take her to sea in a boat and throw her overboard. In each she clings to her old life and her
fingers are chopped off before she lets go. And in each version she sinks to the bottom of the sea, becoming
the sea goddess, worshipped by hunters who depend on her goodwill to supply food.
Victimisation or transcendence?
Many of the traditional astrological interpretations of the Sedna myth focus on the unconscious actions
which led her to her transcendence and her father's role in this process, emphasising the victimisation and
sacrificial interpretations of the planet. However, interpretations which focus on Sedna's attempts to stay on
the boat of reality, and calling her a victim, forget that she transcended to godhood through this process.
Transcendence is not victimisation; and the two may only be confused if we desperately hang onto the old
reality.
Astrological meaning
One of the case studies in my book Sedna Consciousness is Edgar Cayce, the father of modern wholistic
medicine. We get a hint from him that Sedna combines heredity, evolutionary change and spiritual
development into a unitary worldview.
That is why I call subtitle my book 'The Soul's Path of Destiny', because, if we accept the idea of past lives, our
soul's path of destiny over those lifetimes would combine aspects of heredity and evolutionary change with
the spiritual growth of the soul.
And from the myth we get the idea that it relates to various unconscious experiences which come from our
heredity, that will push us to a painful crisis of transcendence, where we are forced to let go of our old
spiritual framework and rise to a new consciousness.
Legendary humanistic astrologer Dane Rudhyar posited that there were three different levels on which each
planet could operate depending on the evolution of our consciousness. The vast majority of us are at the
beginners' level and we will manifest the energy of Sedna from a position of being buried in the dysfunctional
swamp of density.
Largely unconscious of the all-encompassing spiritual energy of the planet, we are likely only to notice it
when it jolts our reality, to correct some imbalance in our lives by bringing us illness or victimisation, like the
judder strip (or 'sleeping policeman') on the road, to steer us back onto the true path of our soul's destiny.
At the intermediate level, we tire of density and the grief it creates, and we start a spiritual journey to get out
of the swamp. This is the key to working with Sedna: she wants to get us on a spiritual path or recognise the
spiritual path that we're on. Then she hits us with transcendent crises, experiences which force us to let go
and rise above them, resulting in a huge growth to a new level of consciousness. There is no choice with
these crises and the more we try and solve them the more we will get hurt.
At this juncture in human evolution, few people use their planets at the spiritual level, but such people are
wonderful to be around. The well-known pattern with the other planets is that the spiritual level is vastly
different from the two previous levels and this is also true for Sedna. Here the struggle of the beginners' level
is gone, as are the transcendental crises of the intermediate level. At this level everything Saturnian is
meaningless and yet everything Sednian has its place.
Sedna keywords
Here are some keywords for these three levels of spiritual development. At the unconscious level it's fairly
dark, but this doesn't mean that all darkness comes from Sedna; she just uses every tool she has to get us
onto the spiritual path.
At the unconscious level
Victimisation
Persistent illness
Alienation
Unrelenting trauma and suffering
Nurturing resentment
Unbearable pressure
Caught in quicksand
Personal blindspot
On the spiritual path
Radical acceptance
Acknowledging just how bad things really are and starting from there
Keeping our heart open in hell
Nurturing our sense of humour
Beating our drum and singing to life
Fated transcendence
At the spiritually evolved level
Spiritual destiny
Transcendent peace
Nurturing abundance
Allowing love and harmony
Transpersonal consciousness
Higher octave of Ceres
The newly re-classified dwarf planet Ceres can be thought of as the higher octave of the Moon, meaning that
the emotional security of the Moon is transmuted to a sustenance and nurturing of our spiritual security and
sense of place on planet Earth with Ceres.
This is very similar to Sedna, except that Sedna operates on a far vaster scale, so we may find that Sedna is
the higher octave of Ceres – where the spiritual security and sense of place on Earth with
Ceres is transmuted into transpersonal nurturing of our spirituality and sense of place in
the evolutionary cycle with Sedna.

Astrologically, Sedna relates to issues relating to unevolved human interactions based on the triad of
roles of victim, perpetrator and rescuer. It relates to the sense of having compassion for those who are
abused without feeling hatred toward the abusers. People who have Sedna prominent in their natal
charts—close to the Ascendant or Mid-heaven or conjunct a personal planet—may have had lives
marked by an experience of betrayal which they need to assimilate and transform in order to grow
spiritually. They need to claim their strength by both reclaiming their boundaries and releasing
resentment. They may also have a strong sense of connection to the ocean and an involvement in issues
relating to pollution of our waters and saving ocean creatures.

Here are some interpretations I found on the internet that sum her up for me, starting with Sedna
at its lowest vibration:

Why She Matters– I LOVE SEDNA. I have never hid this, she is nothing short of amazing. Sure, she is also
an eldritch horror, crazy arctic ice monster, but how could you not love her? She’s a giant mystery
wrapped in an enigma, and she inspired us to push the boundaries of what we know, demanding that
we take notice of her crazy ass. Her astrology is no different- Sedna represents a point in the chart that
is frozen, or inaccessible. Anything that she touches feels like it is stuck behind a wall of ice, and that you
can never touch it. Now, this is actually far more powerful than you would think, because Sedna has the
unique ability to override ANY OTHER PLANET in the chart. She can just stop them dead in their tracks,
and put them on ice. That is completely insane, and no other planet, major or minor, can do that- Not
even Pluto. Further research must be done on the others in the Oort family, once they are named, to
see if they have a similar potency. As with all Trans-Neptunians, they are generational, so look at the the
house placement- The sign will not matter.

Sedna: Artistic or intuitive gifts inherited through the family, however emotional maturation is needed
in order to bring these gifts into useable form. The violence associated with unconscious infantile
frustration.
True to the tenets of the
myth, the ability to communicate creatively has often been self-blocked;
communications tend to be forcibly ejected from the basement of psyche in sporadic
degrees, in consistently refined upon the larger stage of life.

Sedna represents femininity at its heart and how the feminine is victimized. This Girl could not find
peace or the space to be herself. How we handle authority that molds us into what we are not is a facet
of Sedna. Abduction and imprisonment of our true self by another is only possible if we agree to it.
Being wise enough to discern who truly deserves our commitment is one of the things we generally
learn as we mature.
Sedna was too young to have the experience behind her to choose wisely and was glamoured by the
physical appearance of her suitor and the promises of comfort. Seeing where the wool can be pulled
over your eyes can be determined by the placement of Sedna. Maturity, self respect, street smarts, and
holding out for what we feel we truly deserve are the themes we see with this asteroid. Some of the
negatives associated with Sedna are fear of abandonment, fear of authority figures and betrayal by one
close. The house placement of Sedna will show the area of life where this intense asteroid shows up in
our lives. Aspects to Sedna point to how we use this energy on our own life journey.
