Types of Diodes in Analog Electronics

The document outlines a reading assignment for a course on Analog Electronics, focusing on a system that utilizes various types of diodes including Zener, photodiodes, and LEDs. It discusses the use of resistors for current limitation and protection of diodes, as well as the implementation of an adjustable voltage regulator to achieve a specific voltage. Additionally, it highlights the role of the photodiode in detecting IR light to monitor object presence in the system.

ANSWER
1. List all of the types of diodes used in this system.
Diodes used in this system are:
• Zener diode
• Photodiode
• Light-Emitting Diode (LED)

2. We use resistor R2 to limit the current to protect diodes, Voltage Divider or

Pull-Down, Thermal Protection and ensure that those all diodes are operated
property.

3. To change the dc voltage to 8.2 V in this system, I would to adjustable Voltage

Regulator.

4. The LED is typically turn on and off as objects pass by rather than emit
continuous IR. The LED is usually activated when needed.

5. The purpose of the photodiode in this system is to detect the IR light reflected
from nearby objects, which helps the system know when something has passed
by or is in range. It will count or give the data when the object was run in front
of it.
