Weighting and pass requirements of exams and module
• Pass mark of any assignment or exam: 55%.
• Three formative assessments with additional 5% per assessment to the module total grade.
• End of term exam: 100% of final grade duration: 2 hours
• Resit: 100% of final grade (capped on 55%) duration: 2 hours
• Pass mark of a module (1st attempt): the weighted average of the End of term exam, plus bonus
point, is greater or equal to 55%.
• Pass mark of a module (2nd attempt): the resit exam, plus bonus point, is greater or equal to
55%.
Resit policy
The resit policy is the following:
• Students with a weighted average of less than 55% for the module are eligible to resit this
module.
• Resit grades are capped - 55%.
• Term 1 and term 2 resits take place in the subsequent term. Term 3 resits take place at the end of
term 3
Pass requirements
For the complete course, the following regulations hold:
• The course grade is the average of the three modules: term 1 - 33% term 2 - 33% term 3 - 33%
• Progression requirements of the entire subject:
○ To pass the course you must achieve an average of 55% at the end of the academic year.
○ To pass the course you cannot achieve less than 40% in any of the three terms.
If your term grades do not meet the requirements, it is necessary to do an extra resit for the corresponding
term(s). This extra resit takes place at the end of the academic year. The extra resit is only available to
those students with good attendance and behaviour (which will be assessed individually by the Academic
Board).
