CAMPUS PROBLEM SOLVER
Every big change begins with small ideas. Science and technology have transformed our world — from
communication and transportation to energy and education. But innovation doesn’t have to start on a national scale.
It can
begin right here in our campus.
In this activity, you will become a Campus Problem Solver. You will identify a real issue within our school
environment and propose a science- or technology-based solution that can help improve our campus life. Your idea
could
be about cleanliness, energy efficiency, waste management, digital systems, or even student services — anything
that helps
make the campus a better place.
Objectives: At the end of this activity, you should be able to:
1. recognize common problems within the campus that can be solved through science and technology;
2. develop an innovative and practical solution to address a chosen problem. And
3. explain how simple innovations can contribute to school improvement and national development.
Directions
1. Look around your campus. Identify one problem that you think needs improvement or solution.
▪ Examples: poor waste segregation, lack of ventilation, inefficient lighting, uncollected trash, or
difficulty
accessing information.
2. Analyze the problem. What causes it? Who is affected? Why does it matter?
3. Think of a solution. Use what you know about science, technology, or engineering to create a practical idea
or
innovation.
4. Record your findings using the table below.
5. Prepare to share your idea through a short discussion, infographic, or poster presentation.
