1. Love of God- I am a born Catholic and I grew up in a somewhat religious family.

I remember
during childhood, every Sunday, my grandmother and I would got to church and attend
mass. Even in December, we used to do “simbang gabi” before Christmas and this become a
tradition for our family. As a child I believe in the presence of God, I was used to hear that
God is with me all the time, but there are some situations that I would question his
existence, questions keep on pouring down on me when times gets a little too hard for me
to keep up, but then I realize that no matter the pain that I suffer, it would make the end
more worth it. I believe in the saying that no challenges are given to us by God if we cannot
resolve it, we just need to put our utmost trust to Him.

2. Love for parents- I am always thankful that I was born to my parents. They are the most
hardworking person I’ve ever known. We don’t belong to a wealthy family, though we can
afford to eat 3 times a day or even more, we have the privilege to study but of course there
are times where we suffer financial problems. But in spite of all the problems we faced, my
parents stood tall and get back to their feet after falling. They put a lot of effort and
sacrificed so much to give us a comfortable life. I know that my parents are not asking to
return the favor for all of their sacrifices and hardships to raise us but I want to give an even
more priceless things to show my appreciation and gratitude as their child.

3. Love for Country- A country is run by its people. Its win or loss depends on the people. We
must take responsibility for our actions especially to those person wielding the authority and
power over our nation. As a student I can take responsibility by registering in order to have
the power to vote for the right person to run our country.

4. Love for fellowmen- Even the simplest act can become a bigger part of a person. Just by
smiling and giving gratitude to other people can make a big difference. Looking back to the
past experiences in our country, a lot of typhoons and other environmental phenomenon
that surges in every part of the country, we Filipinoes still have the courage to smile despite
of the hardships and sufferings we have. I remember back in high-school and elementary we
are given the chance to help to those people who needed it by giving small donations in
monetary or in kind. And it warms my heart because I can give help even in simple act of
kindness.

5. Love for the environment- I practice this by being mindful of waste, recycling, and
supporting initiatives that protect the environment. Personally, I enjoy spending time in
nature, whether it’s hiking or simply being outdoors, which strengthens my resolve to care
for it. Way back before I tried to join environmental programs where we plant trees in
different places. Additionally, one of our general subjects in college required every student
to undergo community service and one of our project is intended for the people and also the
environment.

7. Courage- Courage can be found in moments when you stand up for what is right, even when
it’s difficult. There are times where I found myself in dire situations that requires me to put
up courage in order to make decisions that would make a big impact in my life. Just like how
i decide to pursue my education away from my family, I realized that having and giving your
all to your chosen choice symbolizes courage and I am proud of myself for it.

8. Initiative - I know its hard to have the courage to take initiative, it takes a great sense of
responsibility to step up without being asked. I am not very fond of taking the role of a
leader especially when having a group work in our subjects or classes but when no ones
volunteering I step out of my comfort zone and take the responsibility of being a leader.

9. Courtesy and Politeness- Simple acts like saying “please” and “thank you” reflect politeness.
I try to practice this in everyday interactions, whether it’s with family, friends, or even
strangers, as it fosters respect and pleasant communication.
10.

9. Thrift and Gratitude:

This is about managing resources wisely and appreciating what you have. I’ve learned to prioritize
needs over wants and to be thankful for even the small things. Practicing gratitude daily helps me
stay grounded and avoid unnecessary spending
