Job Description: Senior Java Developer (Equities E-Trading)

About the Job:

We are seeking a Senior Java Developer to join our E-Trading team. In this role, you will work on
critical projects within the financial technology sector, focusing on performance and reliability.

Main Responsibilities:

• Design and implement robust and scalable Java applications for E-Trading systems in
equities, FX, and credit markets.
• Collaborate with trading and operations teams to understand requirements and provide
technical solutions.
• Mentor and guide junior developers.
• Apply design and architecture principles, and understand common data structures and
algorithm complexities.
• Stay updated with the latest Java technologies and trends in E-Trading, focusing on
algorithmic trading platforms.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and implement new features.
• Identify and resolve bottlenecks and bugs.
• Maintain code quality, organization, and automation.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.


• At least 5 years of experience in Java development.
• Proficient with Java (version 11 or higher), including concurrency and performance tuning.
• Experience with algorithmic trading platforms and techniques.
• Familiarity with unit testing and continuous integration/delivery processes.
• Experience with version control systems such as Git.
• Proficient in Linux.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
• Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey
technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with E-Trading systems, particularly in the electronic equities space.

Additional Information:

• This is a full-time position based in Lisbon or Porto, Portugal, with a hybrid work schedule:
2 days per week in the office and the remaining days working remotely.
