Scientific Racism Assignment
1. What does scientific racism mean?
Scientific racism refers to the misuse of science to justify or promote the belief that some races are
inherently superior or inferior to others. It often involves flawed or biased research used to support
racist ideologies.
2. Why doesn’t racism make sense scientifically?
From a scientific perspective, the genetic differences between people of different “races” are
minimal. Humans share over 99.9% of their DNA, meaning physical traits like skin color are
superficial adaptations to environment, not indicators of intelligence, ability, or worth.
3. Why is race considered a myth?
Race is considered a social construct, not a biological fact. While humans have visible differences,
these do not divide us into separate biological races. The concept of race was historically created to
categorize people and justify inequality, but modern science shows that humanity is one species
with shared ancestry.
