What is prototyping?
• Prototyping is the process of creating a preliminary version of a
product, service, or solution to visualize and test ideas before
full development.
• It helps teams explore concepts, identify challenges, and gather
feedback early.

What is prototyping?
• Concept: Prototyping is the act of turning an idea into reality to
create a prototype similar to a product to test the user's
experience.
• The user understands the idea of the product.
• Visualize the experience that the product brings.
• It is an iterative process.

WHY PROTOTYE? e
• Role:
• Is the fundamental method of the principle: Learning by building.
• Prototyping allows for rapid experimentation, enabling teams to learn
what works and what doesn't before committing significant resources.
• It reduces risk, supports innovation, and ensures that the final solution
aligns with user needs and expectations.
• This step helps businesses shorten the time to develop new products and services.

TYPE OF PROTOTYPING e
• Prototype: A draft of a product/service prior to implementation of the
Minimum Available Product.
• Verify the suitability of the design (product/service).
• MVP - Minimum Viable Product: is an early version of a product
developed with only one basic set of features: the minimum required to
prove the essential hypothesis that underlies the original idea your head.
• Has all the basic features of the product.
• Test business assumptions.
• Both: learn to discover customer needs and wants.

How to Prototype
• Start with simple sketches or models to represent the core concept.
• Use materials such as paper, cardboard, or digital tools to build
quick, low-cost versions.
• Test prototypes with users, gather feedback, and refine the concept
iteratively.
• Progress from basic (low-fidelity) to more detailed (high-fidelity)
prototypes as ideas evolve.
