Career Women and Family Stability Insights
Career Women and Family Stability Insights
Speaker 1
00:03
Good afternoon. So my project is on formal employment and family stability among career women in
Osogbo. So I'll be using the interview guide to ask you some questions. The first question, do you think
career women in formal employment affect family stability?
Speaker 2
00:26
It actually depends on the kind of setting. But it's not actually easy or easier for them balancing their
office work with their primary assignment. So balancing it up is not that easy.
Speaker 1
00:51
Okay, the next question. Why do you think married women work?
Speaker 2
00:56
Speaker 1
01:13
Next question. Do you think married women should engage in full time employ women?
Speaker 2
01:21
Well, among the opinion they engage in a full time employment because if the husband is actually trying,
you know, a fulltime employment and the wife is actually think that they should naturally affect their
home, basically their kids. The kids. So I will, in my own perspective, I watch this, I will, I would love, or
actually I advise that even if the wife is going to work, perhaps you want to be like a personal work or not
really full time.
Speaker 1
1
02:00
Yes, sir.
Speaker 2
02:01
So that this she actually have time for the family. Yes, sir.
Speaker 1
02:23
The next question, what do you think are the implications of not spending time with the children? What
do I think are the implications of not spending time with the children?
Speaker 2
02:39
Yes, it might be the primary job that affects because, you know, feminine might not be enough for the kids
or the children.
Speaker 1
03:02
Okay, the next question. Do cultural or religious expectations conflict with women's career ambitions?
Speaker 2
03:12
The career.
Speaker 1
03:14
Speaker 2
03:21
Well, in terms of culture, I wouldn't say sometimes culture might say no. But did you mention religions?
Yes, religions, yes, some, yes. But the culture of civil.
2
Speaker 1
03:44
Do you believe society judges career women more harshly than men in similar roles? For example, if a
man, a woman are working with same sector, they have the same position. Do you think, do you believe
that society will judge the career woman more harshly than the career man?
Speaker 2
04:07
Basically, you know, in our community, or let me just say in our settings, there are some kind of policy or
the kind of administrative procedure skills that men tend to use during their own administration or their
own leadership skill and that of the women. But these guys who perceive that women are always too
harsh, a lot of their head goes up their, you know, gender. They see when they are in position of power,
they tend to, you know, tend to be, I don't use the word Ashley, but they tend to be more, let me say bossy
so that they can actually feel here I'm in control. And don't just use My gender as a weakness for me. So
they tend to, you know, use that word form more pronouncedly.
Speaker 1
05:03
Okay, the next question is, what are the responsibilities of married women to the family in your religion?
Speaker 2
05:16
Yes, they are primary responsibilities. One, you need to be submissive to your husband, you know,
support him or her in the family way, you know, and just take care of the family.
Speaker 1
06:02
Next question. What do you think are the popular impressions of career women by society.
Speaker 2
06:12
Perception.
Speaker 1
06:13
3
In terms of like how people view career women, what they think about them?
Speaker 2
06:22
Well, from my own point of view, when I actually see a career, I tend to look at them as being, you know,
the kind of strong minded people that tend to contribute their own quota to the development of society.
Because not everybody actually needs to actually dream big to actually, you know, be in a position that
they can say, okay, I want to do this also career. I want to be a lawyer, to be a judge, even yourself. Now
when you actually see, okay, when you interact with someone, okay, after work, some tell you, I want to
be okay, I want to open a business. Okay, I want to be a CEO. Some people say I want to be a full house,
a full time house.
Speaker 1
07:22
Next question. How, how has your spouse's role as a career woman influenced decision making within
your family?
Speaker 2
07:37
Speaker 1
07:38
Speaker 2
07:41
Yes. Actually tend to create, you know, time for the family. But I would say when you actually see a
career woman, the kind of perspective, particularly when the person, the woman is a top management
staff.
Speaker 1
08:13
Yeah.
Speaker 2
4
08:14
In our case of work, it tends to be competing with the issue of the husband. And if peradventure, the
husband is know, what to do with her in terms of the financial status, there might be crisis, you know, in
the family because she might not be submissive to the husband and this woman.
Speaker 1
08:45
And the last question, in what ways does your workplace support or hinder career women's efforts to
balance family life?
Speaker 2
08:59
Yes, our own workplace, we have a section suites one being a private intersection where you tend to have
staff performing the role expected of more than five, six, seven days, number of staff. So being
shouldered by a person irrespective of the job, you know, so much is expected from such a person. So that
might actually affect the way women actually balance workplace. And put into consideration that men
tend to have more shock absorber than women. You know, like if I may actually those tracing, if I have a
target to meet by myself, I have a target to meet to submit a report, I might decide to say, okay, I have the
whole of the weekend to attend to it. I might actually sacrifice some kind of thing for myself.
Speaker 2
10:12
But for the woman, she might actually find it difficult, you know, because being by weekend, probably
you have to go for shopping. She will need to, you know, maybe do some kind of astro. You have left
your left on Monday to Friday, take care of the housework. They do laundry, go to markets and also doing
that with the official assignment. So it's always easier for them balancing between them when they are
such. So in our home, you tend to support them, whereas you have an understanding personally, you can
just dress softly with them. We give them some kind of word of encouragement as you can do it.
Speaker 1
11:05
Okay, that is all for the question that will conclude the interview. Thank you, sir.
00:0011:13
5
SPEAKER 2 WOMAN
Speaker 1
00:04
Speaker 2
00:16
Yes.
Speaker 1
00:18
Do you think your job affects quality time with your family, your children and your husband?
Speaker 2
00:25
Definitely I spend time at work. I've been here since 8. So when I close probably if I want to leave,
the earliest time I can leave is around 5, 5:30. Most time I stay at work till like 6. So it will definitely
affect my relationship in the house with my family. Okay.
Speaker 1
00:48
Speaker 2
00:53
In what sense?
Speaker 1
00:55
Like has. Has juggling your responsibility in your home and your work, has it affected your marital
satisfaction like your relationship with your husband?
Speaker 2
6
01:09
Initially, when I started initially, you know, probably because I was young then, but time goes on. I was
able to put two and two together. All the things I supposed to have most things I do them over the
weekend. Are you getting an evil before leaving home in the morning? And I've settled out some things.
So initially it may be difficult but as time goes on even my spouse to get used to it.
Speaker 1
01:37
Okay, next question. Do you experience challenges balancing your job and family life?
Speaker 2
01:45
Of course there will be challenges. There will be challenges. We have 24 hours in the day and I spend
roughly like 10 or more hours here at work. So. But once you know that you have to balance the two and
if you have a understanding partner in there with you and the economy is not even smiling, one source of
income is not enough for people. And if you have somebody that is understanding, he will definitely be
able to.
Speaker 1
02:22
The next question. Describe any major challenges you face as a career woman in balancing work and
family life.
Speaker 2
02:29
What I can describe as the major challenges was when I was raising my children, you know, it's not that
easy. I used to breastfeed them for at least six months before I introduce any other food to them. So I have
to hire somebody that will be coming to work with me. We don't have a, what we call it crutch here in the
school. We just have to maneuver and make things work. So it was so challenging then, especially when I
was raising children.
Speaker 1
03:03
Okay, next question. How do you manage conflicts as a result of work related issues with your spouse?
Speaker 2
7
03:11
Once I know it's work related and I'm the one that I really want to work, I just have to be submissive and
give peace a chance. As a wife, there are some things that you supposed to know is your role and
whenever you I found wanting as a result of not being at home then you have to take things cool. You
should know you are the one that is supposed to do it. Are you getting me? And give peace a chance. So
you have to be submissive, you have to be respectful. And most times when you collect salary too, there
are some sacrifices you two will have to make in the home. So at least to appreciate your spouse too.
Speaker 1
03:55
So okay, the next question. Does your employment ever cause tension in your marriage or relationship?
Speaker 2
04:02
No, because even when I was looking for the job, my husband was looking around for me. Before we got
married, we've discussed that I can't be a sit at home mom, I really want to work. Respected my view and
opinion. So when I was looking for work, he gave his support. So and me too. I didn't get the work and
start feeling on top of the world. As if, you know, making yourself uncontrollable. Once you are
submissive, everything will be fine. So there wasn't much tension with the cooperation from the two of us.
Speaker 1
04:41
Next question. What strategies help you manage your work and family responsibility?
Speaker 2
04:46
No, number one. Number one strategy is once we have issues, I don't discuss my family, my marital
issues outside. If there are grudges, we learn to resolve it amicably without getting told the party involved.
Are you getting me? So most times we really quarrel. Because at any point in time I know what is
expected of me and I do it. Even if I won't be at home, I will have make a provision for what I'm supposed
to have done. If I know I'll be getting home next week, this weekend I will have sorted a lot of things.
Make food, keep them in the. You understand? Like do the basic things. There won't be issues. So that's
how I was able to at least.
Speaker 1
05:37
8
Okay, the next question was just Spouse supports your career.
Speaker 2
05:40
Yes, he does.
Speaker 1
05:43
What advice would you give to younger women trying to build careers while maintaining stable family
lives?
Speaker 2
05:49
Well, the advice I've given is, as I've said earlier, know the type of spouse you will choose. Choose
somebody you have the same mentality with. You are coming to school now, your parents sponsored you.
And later on in life they'll be expecting much from you. Too much is given, much is expected. So before
you agree to go into the altar with anybody, sit down and make sure you have similar minds. Don't marry
somebody that you know that you have divergent views on issues. You have to know the person you are
marrying. Mr. Man, when we get married though, I really want to work. Me, I don't see working as being
a career Woman. You know, there are some people that they will always put their work ahead of their
family. You can call those people career women.
Speaker 2
06:48
But what I Being a career woman doesn't mean you should disobey your husband. It doesn't mean you
shouldn't be submissive. It doesn't mean you shouldn't be controllable. Are you getting me? So once you
obey the do's and don'ts of marriage and you try at least nobody is perfect to at least near perfection.
There are some women that are not even working and yet they are not even doing what some career
women are doing in the home. Some we go to places they will start gossiping. Once the husband come
back from work. We always meet trouble in the house. You know, the devil's an idol sometimes it's the
devil's workshop. So if I hide you, there are a lot of things that even if you are not being caught with, you
will do it. So one need to balance the two.
Speaker 2
07:37
My advice is to the upcoming career woman is to the kind of spouse you want to marry, not somebody
that will be going this way and the person will be taking you. There are some people that naturally they
9
are sadistic and once they see a woman that is at least trying to you understand they will always want to
draw that person back. I have somebody like the person is a graduate, a master's degree but he ends up.
She ends up marrying what you call it. Tyler, are you getting me? So how do you balance the two? You
know the mentality of the man, you can't. They can reason at the same level. And before she who any
small thing demand will always use it against her. That is because he's not educated like she does. So
that's my advice.
Speaker 2
08:28
So try your eyes look very well. Choose the best somebody. Don't choose a husband. Choose your friend
as your man. Somebody you can relate with. Somebody you can share your problem with. Somebody you
can discuss freely without any. Let me fear.
Speaker 1
08:49
Then the last question. Have you ever felt pressure to choose between career advancement and family
responsibility? Okay.
Speaker 2
08:58
Speaker 1
09:04
Have you ever felt pressure to choose between career advancement and family responsibility?
Speaker 2
09:08
It has never happened to me before, honestly. Because other man probably because I have a good
husband. Although it's late now. But he has always been there for me. When I started working Fountain
University he will always bring me down here. In the morning and in the evening when he close from
work he will come back and wait till I get close then take me home again. If you have somebody that is
highly supportive. There is no how you can have issues. Are you getting me? I wasn't any other pressure.
And even when were married, I still did a lot of program academically. I'm a chartered accountant. He
supported me all through. Are you getting me? So marry your friend and everything will be fine.
Speaker 1
10
09:56
00:1210:01
SPEAKER 3 WOMAN
Speaker 1
Okay. So my topic is on formal employment and family service. Okay. So the first question I'm going to
ask. Do you think your job affects quality time for family like your children?
Speaker 2
Speaker 1
Speaker 2
Speaker 1
Speaker 2
Well, actually I don't think I will do the justice for this. Based on family and career. Yes.
Speaker 1
Okay. Describe any major challenges you face as a career woman in balancing work and family life.
Speaker 2
Okay. I can say coming to work late a little bit. Also I can balance it a bit. Okay. Second thing, time factor
it can a bit little affect the work. My work. Okay.
Speaker 1
01:27
11
How do you manage conflicts as a result of work related issues with your spouse?
Speaker 2
Normally I would like to leave the home by 8 o' clock in the morning or 7 to report to resume to the work
as early as 8:00am in the morning. So that's only thing I can say about that time. Based on time factor.
Yes. Okay. I do manage.
Speaker 1
Okay. Does your employment ever cause tension in your marriage or relationship?
Speaker 2
No at all.
Speaker 1
What strategies help you manage your work and family responsibilities?
Speaker 2
Strategies? Well, a little bit I can do the justice on based on the career, my career and my family stability.
Speaker 1
Does your spouse support your career? Does your spouse support your career?
Speaker 2
Yes, of course.
Speaker 1
Okay. What advice would you give to younger women trying to build careers while maintaining stable
family lives?
Speaker 2
02:30
I can tell them that they should do the justice based on their career, work and their own. They should
know the career affect their own.
Speaker 1
12
Have you ever felt pressure to choose between career advancement and family responsibilities?
Speaker 2
Speaker 1
SPEAKER 4 MAN
Speaker 1: 00:00
Okay, my topic is on formal employment and family stability and I'm going to be asking you just 10
questions. Okay. Do you think career women informal employment affects family stability?
Speaker 2
00:21
Yes. Positively negative. When you're employed, you have income can support your husband employed
will be busy. Consequently everything will be reduced the family but you have something doing and your
children won't learn from you that people work to get money and support families. So you have any issue
health care, education and support your husband to have a better family setting Negatively. Yes. The has
to cooperate. Cuz if you as bus your husband even better than your husband.
Speaker 1
01:02
Yes.
Speaker 2
01:03
Speaker 1
01:08
Yes. Next question. Why do you think married women work? Why do you think married women work?
Speaker 2
13
01:15
they have to work. See, you have your own income and pay the way you like and now these husbands
cannot support, cannot be everything cannot represent of their or whatever you need in the home. Not that
you have parents too. Now you have things you want to use money for privacy. You don't work, you won't
know the value of money.
Speaker 1
01:39
Yes.
Speaker 2
01:39
So your husband will not even expect if you don't work be like a liability. I won't like it.
Speaker 1
01:46
Okay, the next question. Do you think married women should engage in full time employment?
Speaker 2
01:51
Speaker 1
01:54
Okay. What do you think are the implications of not spending time with the children?
Speaker 2
02:01
Yes, there are applications but if you buy your time very well, you have a good time management you
have to send reasonable time to your children. If you don't spend time with your children that they won't
bond so much with you to give them home training check their assignments in school you have negative
but if you have time good time management. We'll work around that.
Speaker 1
14
02:21
Okay, next question. Do cultural or religious expectations conflict with women's career ambition?
Speaker 2
02:29
Sure.
Speaker 1
02:31
Okay. Do you believe society judges career women more harshly than men in similar ways?
Speaker 2
02:38
Speaker 1
02:44
Okay. What are the responsibilities of married women to the family? In your religion?
Speaker 2
02:51
Yes, in my religion, the yes. The husband should provide for the woman and the man you told that you
should give laws to your wife because of the you should pray for your but nonetheless we reality a man
cannot provide everything in 100% should also support the husband to run the home financially.
Speaker 1
03:13
Okay. What do you think are the popular impressions of career women by society?
Speaker 2
03:20
15
Is the career woman in this city is look upon as somebody's name maybe I mean as a goal may not
succumb to the husband's Control maybe even wayward maybe all these immoralities but it's not always
like that. That's why the mother has to prove herself more than the man.
Speaker 1
03:44
Hours. How has your spouse's role as a career woman influence decision makings with.
Speaker 2
03:52
Your family I'm not a woman. You want to refer I'm a man.
Speaker 1
03:56
No how has your spouse's role okay. As a career woman I'm a career.
Speaker 2
04:01
I'm a man.
Speaker 1
04:02
Speaker 2
04:03
Speaker 1
04:05
Speaker 2
16
04:09
Yeah. I have to lie I have a highly career woman as a Ph.D. she has education in law she has a masters in
every science I beauty by Levy Science so this has affected us very positively. She has positive mindset
she picks advice that will run the home possibly and her life has been good.
Speaker 1
04:36
Okay. In what ways does your workplace support or hinder career women's efforts to balance family life?
Speaker 2
04:46
I would think my it depends on me I'm a. I'm working as a postage person so this extra job for me but
when I was in civil service so there's nothing you take your children to school you support your wife and
if you have any excuse not to come official I mean reasonably and you it's not everything they will maybe
your wife is this It's a lot people are supported.
Speaker 1
05:14
SPEAKER 5 MAN
Speaker 1: 00:00
Speaker 2: 00:07
Do you have another copy so that I can easily. So should this not be?
Speaker 1: 00:19
Yeah, my supervisor suggested that I should also interview married men. So get their basket.
Speaker 2: 00:37
Speaker 1: 00:40
17
First question.
Speaker 2: 00:41
Speaker 1: 00:00
The first question is. Do you think career women informal employment affect family stability? Do you
think career informal employment affects family stability?
Speaker 2
00:58
Speaker 1
00:59
I think it is. Why do you think married women work so you all.
Speaker 2
01:06
For various reasons. One is to also attain the personal ambition and good she's able to fend for their
family members. Those who are the own personal family members. Yeah, I think.
Speaker 1
01:23
Next question. Do you think married women should engage in full time employment?
Speaker 2
01:29
No, I think.
Speaker 1
01:31
Okay. What do you think are the implications of not spending time with children?
18
Speaker 2
01:37
The imp are numerous. One is in terms of your children's company. Two is in terms of their involvement
in their social life, which of course ultimately affects their later years. When these parents grow old, there
seem to be a disconnect between the parents and the kids. When the parents need the kid the most, they
are often absent. Right. And then not being around nursing employers, it affects their moral impertinence
in terms of their moral upbringing, moralities and values. Of course, in today's world it is clear that in
society those who have been, how do I put it? Issues from that segment have now cropped up in society.
You know, the ferments were creating society, find them doing informal jobs, find them criminals. And so
it shows the impact of parental involvement, children's lives. Okay, thank you.
Speaker 1
02:49
Speaker 2
02:55
Yes, of course it does. Because let me start from the later point. It the Buddhist perspective, Islam is of the
view that women are meant to stay at home. Right. And that men are their protectors. Whatever they
need, rest solely on men or on men's shoulders. Right. And they should be cared for, catered for and they
should not go to any stress whatsoever. Right? Uhhuh. Then. Although it does not mean that women
cannot work, right. But it's advised that women if they can work at home, it is not to fail you. And of
course, when that age that supports such profession work online and they would earn more than those
who work, you know, the physical mode, women work in banks and other places. People who work online
still earn more than those who work physically.
Speaker 2
03:56
So, so I saw, I, I, I am a strong adherence to the fact that women should work from home. Right. From
just perspective. The other one is the culture, is.
Speaker 1
04:09
It for cultural, religious expectations? Yes, do you believe society judges career women more harshly than
men is similar rules?
Speaker 2
19
04:23
Yes, I think that for in fact people feel that women who are successful in their career rules did not emerge
to that level. On, on. On a mutual level. Police feel that they must have compromised on their dignity
whatsoever. So we are this stereotype believe that when a woman grows old or when she exceeds
institution in her career, it is because she must have compromised one front or the other. So I think that it
is very possible for women to grow without any support just as many aspects to also grow.
Speaker 1
05:10
What are the responsibilities of married women to the family in your religion?
Speaker 2
05:18
So in Islam women Malibu women are expected to take care of the family, take care see to the children's
upbringing. In fact, scholars that we have today that have played crucial role in Islamic knowledge were
raised by women. I'll give you an example. We have Imam Bukhari, who is known to have compiled the
hadith that Muslims refers today in the Prophet was raised by in fact the haddad was blind. It was the
mom that taught him all indebted before he became. So women play crucial role in children's open game.
And when. When they are absent, there's always a gap in society. I'm sure that if you know where by your
mom, my own, they would not be here. I'll play ball, I would do all of things. I'll play psi. I will beat me
and beat me.
Speaker 2
06:27
And today I feel that yes, if were she not there, perhaps I not be. So women play a crucial role in ensuring
that take care of the kids and the husband. Very, very important. Both both food wise and in the other
room.
Speaker 1
06:46
The next question is what do you think are the popular impressions of career women by society?
Speaker 2
06:53
One is that they are proud, they are egoistic, they are too domineering, they do not have compassion.
Because there's this general rhetoric that when a woman is placed as a boss should always be too over
20
domineering, she will lack empathy. Unlike when men take leadership roles. Right. And I think there are
cases that have also validate these claims in terms of how women have been able to how they are fed in
terms of leadership rules. So we believe that generally we do that women tend to the power tends to
consume them more than men. That's what I feel decided that our society views women.
Speaker 1
07:45
How has.
Speaker 2
07:46
How.
Speaker 1
07:48
How has your spouse's role as a career woman influenced decision making within your family?
Speaker 2
07:56
So my spouse is not a career woman. My spouse works online, she's comfortable, she earns so she's able
to strike a balance between our work and maintaining our kitchen.
Speaker 1
08:16
Okay, last question. In what ways does your workplace support or hinder career women's efforts to
balance family life?
Speaker 2
08:26
Well, I would say that where I work has been quite generous to women in terms of how flexible the work
life is. I mean, as a lecturer, you can resume at any point in time. You so do fit where you don't have any
pending cases. So it allows you to resume to work at your own preferred time and close as when you do
fit. Right. Even those who do not work formally in this university who are trainers and the likes from your
own place here, when they resume us early as 9, as early as 12. Again, once they are done cleaning the
offices, they can go home, you know, go to tend to their own businesses, their own kids and family
21
members. So this workplace generally affords women the opportunity to balance their work and life
expectations.
Speaker 1
09:27
SPEAKER 6 WOMAN
Speaker 1
00:02
My topic is on formal employment and family stability among career women. The first wait. Formal
employment and family stability among career women.
Speaker 1
00:28
Okay.
Speaker 1
00:29
So the first question is, do you think your job affects quality time with your family?
Speaker 2
00:40
I don't think my job has affected my family because I gave birth early. As the mother, I give it early. So
why they are going to scour my business really affect them.
Speaker 1
00:55
Speaker 2
01:05
22
My employment?
Speaker 1
01:06
Speaker 2
01:14
Speaker 1
01:19
Okay.
Speaker 2
01:20
I set boundary. There's a limit to where they can go. There's limits to what I can tell them to do. So I
basically I know most of the things so I don't get them involved. My family issue or getting too close. I
set boundaries.
Speaker 2

Okay.

Describe any major challenges you face as a career woman in balancing work and family life.
Speaker 2
02:42
I think where the problem is this at times when there is no mobility. Like mobile. If you're not on mobile,
like you don't have a car.
Speaker 1
02:51
Yes.
Speaker 2
02:52
So you don't want to start carrying your children around jumping bus. Just leave the child with your
parents.
Speaker 1
02:59
Okay.
Speaker 2
03:00
Leave my child to my parents and I'll go school on weekends. My workplace is nearby so it doesn't stress
me. But when I want to take the child to school sometimes is stressful. So I set time. I, My cooking is
24
once in a week. I don't cook all the time. So whenever they want to eat, there's always food in the fridge
for them to eat. Thats if they're around. And when I get back I go to bring my children, my child back
home. So it’s like that, they can even bring my child for me to my house because my workplace is nearby.
Speaker 1
03:50
Okay.
Speaker 1
03:50
The next question is how do you manage conflict as a result of work related issues with your spouse?
Speaker 3
04:05
My spouse goes to work in the morning and I go to work too very early.
Speaker 1
04:10
Yes.
Speaker 3
04:11
Speaker 1
04:14
Okay.
Speaker 2
04:15
If I'm at Home I've prepared the food. Because my workplace is nearby, I prepare the food. So whenever I
come, there's only food for him. We don't have conflict in terms of maybe, “why didn’t you go to market,
“Why are you coming late?”. A matter of timing. Myself, when I get back from work, I immediately head
out for the market so it doesn't disturb.
25
Speaker 1
04:40
Okay, Okay.
Speaker 1
04:42
The next question is. Does your employment ever cause tension in your marriage or relationship?
Speaker 2
04:52
No, It doesn’t.
Speaker 1
04:54
What strategies help you manage your work and family responsibilities?
Speaker 2
05:04
Speaker 1
05:06
Yes.
Speaker 2
05:06
I wake up, I have a washing machine. I wash my clothes very early. While it’s washing the clothes, I'm
taking care of the kids. They're having their baths.
Speaker 1
05:15
Yes.
26
Speaker 2
05:15
I've already prepared my food a day before. So once the kids are going to school, my spouse is going to
work. I drop off the kids and then I head off to [Link] like I said, it is just timing. It is just timing.
Speaker 1
05:33
Okay, next question is. Does your spouse support your career?
Speaker 2
05:44
A bit not, I’ll not say 100% I’ll just say 50%.
Speaker 1
05:51
What advice would you give to your younger women trying to build careers while maintaining stable
family lives?
Speaker 2
06:03
Said if you are young and you want to build your career. If you are. If you have a child at the same time
want to start business career it is very good except you have a second hand like somebody to assist. Like
somebody that assist you. But if there's that can assist you can get yourself, you can be on the move. So
like I said, time yourself wake up by 4. Do skills husband is going to work on you are going to school.
Okay, it's time for the child to resume school. It's just matter of time waking up early. Do the necessary
before serving your house ready before it's just matter of if you decide to get was my house girl. Okay, so
young couples or young ladies are trying to come to do whatever I want to do. Just time yourself.
Speaker 1
07:15
Okay.
Speaker 2
07:17
27
If this school fine if it's full time. If it's full, that means you're taking your child to the school. Maybe you
have to come up with your child. But if this time there you can have time for yourself. So I always advise
part time. For young ladies that are coming up that just go always applied part time it is easier for them to
run the family. They are doing part time study. If you are doing full time study, it's only difficult because
of the children's advice. Part time study is better. You wake up early then take it off from there.
Speaker 1
07:51
Speaker 2
07:55
Have you ever felt pressure to choose between career advancement and family responsibilities?
Speaker 3
08:09
