TERMINATION OF COURSE

Any student whose conduct or academic performance is unsatisfactory would be advised to

withdraw from the school.

SCHOOL RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR STUDENTS

The following rules and regulations apply to all students.

A. GENERAL
1. Terminal dates are announced on school notice boards and at school assembly.
2. Students must report to school at the beginning of each term and go home at the end of
each term on the days specified.
3. In case of unavoidable delay in reporting, the Head of the school should be notified
immediately by letter.
4. Students who return late to school at the beginning of the term or after mid-term break
without prior notice will be severely punished.
5. Any student who reports to school without any item listed in the prospectus will be
sanctioned.

B. SCHOOL BOUNDARY
1. Students must remain on the school compound at all times unless given special
permission. Any student who goes outside the school wall/boundary into the surrounding
communities such as Kpembe, Idipe or Agape without exeat will be considered as having
broken school bounds.
2. Students are prohibited from going into the Staff Common Room without permission.
3. Students are prohibited from going to staff bungalows after 5:00 pm.
4. Girls’ dormitories/houses are out of bounds for all male students and vice versa.

C. EXEATS
Students must not leave the school compound without exeat. Students who break bounds
will be severely sanctioned. Except on general exeats, all students shall carry exeats duly
signed by their Housemasters/Mistresses while out of the school. Students on return from
exeats shall report to their Housemasters/Mistresses. On no account should a student go
out of the school compound without permission.

D. SANITATION
1. All students MUST ensure daily cleanliness and tidiness of the school. Both seniors and
juniors MUST take part in general cleaning.
2. All refuse (sachet rubbers, take-away rubbers etc) MUST be disposed properly in the
rubbish bins provided for the purpose. Offenders will be sanctioned severely.
3. The school prohibits open urination and defecation. Urinals and toilets are available for
such purposes.
4. The school organizes general inspection every three weeks.
5. Towels and sponges should be dried in the open on drying lines.
6. Cooking in the dormitories/houses is prohibited.

E. VISITING HOURS
1. Students may receive visitors on Saturdays and Sundays and on public holidays between
2:00 pm and 5:00 pm. It is an offence to receive a visitor outside the specified period.
2. A visitor calling outside these times should first report or be directed to the Senior
Housemaster/Mistress.
3. Visitors should not be taken to students’ dormitories.

F. STUDENTS’ PERSONAL PROPERTY

1. All students are strictly advised not to leave money or valuables of any kind in the
dormitories. Money should be given to the Housemaster/Mistress or any other staff for
safekeeping.
2. The school is not responsible for loss of money or valuables by students.
3. Keys must always be handed to dormitory monitors when dormitories are locked.

G. CLASSES, EVENING STUDIES AND OTHER SCHOOL GATHERINGS

1. All students are supposed to wake up at 5:00 pm.
2. All students must attend all school gatherings.
3. No student should return to the dormitory during classes, prep or school gathering.
4. All students must attend classes punctually and remain in classes for the full length of the
sessions.
5. All students are required to attend evening studies punctually and remain there until it is
time to go to bed.
6. Students should study generally in their classrooms during prep from 7:00 pm to 9:30
pm.
7. All students are expected to pass all class/school examinations.
8. Students will be advised to withdraw for persistent poor academic performance or
persistent truancy.
9. At the end of night studies, students must report back to their dormitories. Students found
absent from the dormitory after evening studies will be sanctioned.
10. All students (both seniors and juniors) must observe lights out in their dormitories at
10:00 pm.

H. SCHOOL PROPERTY
1) Students are expected to take proper care of school property entrusted to them. These
include school textbooks, library books, computers etc. Students should not deface school
buildings or walk on school lawns.
2) Students who steal, misuse or damage school property or property belonging to other
persons will be made to pay three times the cost of the property.
3) Students MUST not interfere with the electrical installations in the school (dormitories,
classrooms, laboratories etc).
4) All lights and fans are to be switched off after use.

 I. POSSESSION AND USE OF MOBILE PHONE ON CAMPUS
Students are NOT ALLOWED to possess or use mobile phones on campus. Any student
found with mobile phone will be punished severely and the phone permanently
confiscated by the school. Any student who reports with mobile phone should give it to
the Housemaster/Mistress or any other staff for safekeeping.

J. HEADMASTER AND MEMBERS OF STAFF

1. The Headmaster shall be accessible to all students. Any student wishing to see the
Headmaster shall be in school uniform.
2. The members of staff shall be accessible to students. However, staff houses shall be out
of bounds to all students except on duty or with permission. Students shall not visit staff
houses after 5:00 pm.

K. DINING HALL AND KITCHEN

The dining hall and kitchen shall be out of bounds to all students except at meal times.
Attendance at dining hall shall be compulsory for all students. No food shall be taken to
the dormitory except when a student is officially confined to bed. Students shall use
cutlery for all meals, except for Kenkey, T.Z., Banku, etc. Special diet shall be provided
only upon recommendation by a medical officer. No student shall be served if he/she
does not come to the dining hall with his or her plate. All students shall keep their own
cups and plates and shall wash them after meals themselves.

NOTE:

Students are entreated to be guided by common sense. ANY BREACH OF COMMON SENSE
IS A BREACH OF SCHOOL RULE.
