Personal Hygiene Learning Analysis

This chapter presents the analysis of pre-test and post-test data regarding learners' understanding of personal hygiene. The results indicate significant improvement after implementing instructional interventions, with post-test 2 showing 80% of learners achieving Above Average scores. Comparisons reveal a clear progression from pre-test to post-test, highlighting the effectiveness of the teaching methods used.

CHAPTER FOUR

DATA ANALYSIS, FINDINGS AND DISCUSSION

Introduction
This chapter deal with the presentation and analysis of data obtained from the pre-test and
post-test that the researcher made. This data was taken to find out the problem.
Analysis Of Pre-Test Data
The table below is the pre-test conducted which conveys the information regarding the
analysis. Pre-test results was analyzed to determine learners to improve the understanding
of the concept of personal hygiene.
Table 1: Results Of the Pre-Test
Score Frequency Percentage (%)

Above Average (8-10) 2 10%

Average (5-7) 3 10%

Below Average (0-4) 10 80%

Total Score 15 100%

Source: Field Data, 2025

From Table 1
This shows that majority of the learners who participated in the test had below average
scores. From the table, the number of learners who had Above Average score is 2 (10%),
Average score is 3 (10%) and 10 (80%) had Below Average. This shows clearly that
majority of the class were having problem in improving the understanding of the concept
of personal hygiene.
Analysis of Post-Test 1
Following the implementation of the use of demonstration method, a post test I was
administered to evaluate learners understanding abilities. This analysis examines the data
collected after the implementation to determine the effectiveness of the instructional
intervention, measuring learners understanding abilities and progress compared to the
pre-test results.

Research Question 1:
How would the use of demonstration method to improve upon the understanding of the
concept of personal hygiene among Basic 6 learners in Akutuase M/A Primary School?
Table 2: Results Of Post-Test 1
Score Frequency Percentage (%)

Above Average (8-10) 4 20%

Average (5-7) 6 40%

Below Average (0-4) 5 40%

Total Score 15 100%

Source: Field Data, 2025

From Table 2
This revealed the better progress, with 4(20%) learners performing Above Average,
6(40%) learners at Average, and 5(40%) learners at Below Average. There was much
improvement in the learners to improve the concept of personal hygiene after
implementing intervention 1.

Comparison between Pre-Test and Post-Test

The pre-test to post-test 1 comparison shows the better progress in learner’s improve
personal hygiene from 02(10%) to 04(20%) increase Above Average, learners 03(10%) to
06(40%) Average learners increase and 10(80%) to 5(40%) decrease in Below Average
learners, indicating effective instruction. Instructional strategy effectively lifted below
Average learner. Average learners demonstrated a better improvement and Above Average
learners showed improved performance.

Analysis Of Post-Test 2
Following the implementation, the use pf picture clue to improve the understanding of the
concept of personal hygiene, Post-Test 2 assessed learners’ mastery of concepts. This
analysis evaluates the effectiveness of the use of picture clue intervention, measuring
student growth and understanding compared to previous interventions.

Research Question 2
How would the use of picture clue to improve upon the understanding of the concept of
personal hygiene among Basic 6 learners of Akutuase M/A Primary School?
Table 3: results Of the Post-Test 2
Score Frequency Percentage (%)

Above Average (8-10) 10 80%

Average (5-7) 3 10%

Below Average (0-4) 2 10%

Total Score 15 100%

From table 3
Learners’ performance achieved further improvement with 10(80%) learners performing
Above Average, 3(10%) learners remaining at Average and a decrease to 2(10%) learners
Below Average. Table 3 is demonstrating improved effectiveness.

Comparison Between Post-Test 1 and Post Test 2

Post-test 2 results show significant performance compared to the post-test performance
compared to the post-test 1, a notable increase from 04(20%) to 10(80%) in Above
Average, learners, 05(40%) to 03(10%) in Average and Below Average from 05(40%) to
02(10%) learners decreased.
