Pattern Projection Guide
To use video projection, you first need to download and install the free Adobe Acrobat Reader software
on your computer. Open the PDF file you want to project using Adobe Acrobat Reader.
You can choose between a white background or a pink background projection file—select the one that
provides the best visibility on your fabric.
Calibrate your projector
Click on the "Layer" tab, represented by the following icon « ».
Choose the calibration grid that suits you: in cm or inches. Disable one or the other of these
layers by checking or unchecking a layer with a click on « ». Also uncheck all the sizes below.
Enter the zoom level corresponding to your setup in the designated window.
If you encounter difficulties calibrating your setup, we recommend joining the Facebook group "Projection
et Patrons (de couture)". The zoom level to enter is determined by your setup and will ensure that the
pattern is projected at a 1:1 scale. Once your file is calibrated, you can proceed to the next step.
Make sure to keep the "GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS" layer visible, as it includes the text for the pattern
pieces, grainline indications, and similar pieces for all sizes.
CHOOSING YOUR SIZE
Go back to the layer panel and select (still using « »), the size you want.
You can make the calibration layer invisible for better visibility. Close all unnecessary software panels
that could reduce your cutting area.
WARNING: At each step, double-check that your zoom level has not changed. If it has, you must reset it.
CUTTING
Cut around each shape carefully. All pattern pieces are included in the file, with elements like sleeves
already duplicated and mirrored. This allows you to cut both a right and left sleeve without folding your
fabric (e.g., as with the Soho dress).
Don't forget to mark the notches, reference points, and center of each piece.
For pieces that extend beyond the frame, use the center lines, notches, and extension guides to adjust your
fabric and reposition your screen as needed to complete the cutting process.
SEW
For the best results, make a quick toile to confirm the size and ensure the pattern fits your body
perfectly.
