Wind Turbine and Battery Control for Grids

This paper presents a method for the simultaneous integration and control of wind turbines (WT) and battery energy storage systems (BESS) to enhance grid stability and manage power fluctuations caused by the intermittent nature of renewable energy sources. The proposed analytical formulations aim to smooth WT output, balance demand and generation, and reduce the automatic generation control (AGC) reserve capacity required in the grid. The results indicate that integrating WT and BESS effectively increases the hosting capacity of energy grids and improves power quality.
