Screener Two started transcription

Alok Kumar Vaishya 0:07

Hope this screen is also visible.

Screener Two 0:10

Yes, yes. Perfect. Absolutely. OK.

Alok Kumar Vaishya 0:12

Mm-hmm.

Screener Two 0:15

All right. So hi, alok. I'm Sakshi and I'll be taking over your screening
today. So to begin with, can we have your introduction?

Alok Kumar Vaishya 0:27

Hey, first of all, good evening. Also let me introduce myself. My name is
Alo best having around nine years of experience in IT field out of which
from last five years I'm working as a DevOps and cloud automation
engineer mainly on Azure clouds. Currently working with Infinite Computer
solution as a DevOps engineer.
Yes, even finite. My expertise are like creating the infrastructure with the
help of Terraform and provisioning with the help of CICD automation to
like we are using the HR DevOps. So as per the part of cloud I have our
hands on experience on most of the Azure resources like storage account,
resource group.
Virtual networks subnet virtual machines. The best services for the secret
management Azure keyboard AKS is there and Azure web applications
and many more currently working on a three tier based application. The
front end is in red, the back end is in Python.
And data databases like MSSQL postage, SQL is also there and some kind
of other database is also there. So my part in this project in like creating
the infrastructure with the help of Terraform and making the Cicd pipeline
for the infrastructure as well as the.
Application so we have the two types of application meaning PR pipelines,
PR pipelines and the oh sorry PR pipelines and the main pipelines. Apart
from the Cicdi have a hands on experience on Dockering Kubernetes as
well.
So for the Docker related, I'm mostly involving into writing the customised
Docker images with the help of customised Docker file. Posting the
images onto the ACR or the other different kind of private tribals
registries.
And for the Kubernetes part are mostly involved to writing the manifest
files custom manifest file for the deployment state, full set and service
and we are clubbing these manifest file inside the hand charts and we are
doing the deployment with the help of.
Help, apart from the Kubernetes I have hands on experience as well as on
to the monitoring and the routing part. So for the monitoring we are using
permit is in kapana mostly to like to monitor the application and the
containers and the pots and.
The notes so the this is the overview of my overall career about the
DevOps.

Screener Two 2:58

OK. Yeah. So as you said, you have a total of 9 plus years of total
experience, right?

Alok Kumar Vaishya 3:05

Right.

Screener Two 3:07

And what about the relevant ones? Is it the same?

Alok Kumar Vaishya 3:10

OK, so I started my career in 2015 and around 2020, almost four years
I've worked as a manual test engineer or mostly on the protocol testing
that was a earlier 7 protocol SIP.

Screener Two 3:23

Yeah.

Alok Kumar Vaishya 3:25

So for that, for that time and I was working as a manual test engineer and
one was 2020 from IKEA. I started my career as a DevOps and cloud
automation engineer.

Screener Two 3:39

Mm-hmm.
Great. So the total relevant, can you please repeat?

Alok Kumar Vaishya 3:45

No five years.

Screener Two 3:47

Five years location. Where are you currently based out of?

Alok Kumar Vaishya 3:48

Is it?
Currently I'm based out of Noida and we have IV Plus policies. So mostly
working from home because we are handling the US based clients.

Screener Two 4:01

OK.
All right, so you are based in Noida?

Alok Kumar Vaishya 4:07

The.

Screener Two 4:11

Are you an immediate joiner serving the notice period right now?

Alok Kumar Vaishya 4:15

So the project is over. I'm having around 30 days of notice period, but I
can join in 20 days of 25 days.
So it can become primitive.

Screener Two 4:23

OK, so it is negotiable.

Alok Kumar Vaishya 4:26

Right.

Screener Two 4:27

And OK, so you are not serving the notice period right now?

Alok Kumar Vaishya 4:32

Like I'm not sorry.

Screener Two 4:34

You are yet to put down the papers.

Alok Kumar Vaishya 4:36

Yes. Once I got the offer, I will put down the paper same day.

Screener Two 4:41

OK.

Alok Kumar Vaishya 4:42

Because manager is also flexible, he's ready to release us as soon as we
got the offer.

Screener Two 4:48

OK, sure. OK.
Alok Kumar Vaishya 4:49
Mm-hmm.

Screener Two 4:52

So once you receive the offer, you will be available after 20 to 25 days.
You will join us in 25 days.

Alok Kumar Vaishya 5:01

Right.
Right.

Screener Two 5:05

OK.
Coming to the offer letters, do you hold any offer letters in hand?

Alok Kumar Vaishya 5:14

Oh yes, one offering. And that is from MNC and they're offering 22 LP.

Screener Two 5:19

Mm-hmm.
20 LP.

Alok Kumar Vaishya 5:25

22.

Screener Two 5:26

22 LPM and in which year did you graduate?

Alok Kumar Vaishya 5:28

Yes.
2013.

Screener Two 5:33

And since then you had been continuously working or is there any gap?

Alok Kumar Vaishya 5:37

There was a gap around two years, so I was preparing for the like
government jobs and other kind of things. So that is a two year gap
between the education first job.

Screener Two 5:52

OK. So can you please define that timeline from 2013 to?

Alok Kumar Vaishya 5:58

2013 to October 2015.
Screener Two 6:04
OK. And in that period you were.

Alok Kumar Vaishya 6:08

Preparing for the government jobs.

Screener Two 6:11

OK. And after that you had been continuously been engaged?

Alok Kumar Vaishya 6:12

Mm-hmm.
Oh yes. But in July, after July 2019, I have almost around seven years of
working gap due to some personal reasons from July.

Screener Two 6:26

OK.

Alok Kumar Vaishya 6:31

Yeah, till July, I were working from August to January 2020. I have a gap
on seven months.

Screener Two 6:40

OK.
So now what I'll do is I'll share my screen and we can go through your CV
once.

Alok Kumar Vaishya 6:50

Yeah.

Screener Two 6:51

And you can explain all the projects you have worked on.

Alok Kumar Vaishya 6:56

OK.

Screener Two 7:00

Just allow me a minute while I share my screen.

Alok Kumar Vaishya 7:04

So in the currency government like mentioned the project by I have
mentioned just the whatever the work I have done into the project.

Screener Two 7:11

Hmm.
OK.
All right. So how is it visible?

Alok Kumar Vaishya 7:45

Oh yes, it's visible.

Screener Two 7:48

So as you said, you have 9 plus years of experience and relevant is five
plus in cloud infra.

Alok Kumar Vaishya 7:50

None.
Right.

Screener Two 8:03

And as you said, you graduated in 13 and till 15 you were preparing and
after that you worked that vedang.

Alok Kumar Vaishya 8:08

You.
Right.

Screener Two 8:16

For approx 3 years.

Alok Kumar Vaishya 8:18

Oh, yes, almost three years 2 1/2.

Screener Two 8:20

2.5. Yeah. And then move to Pyro, but only for five months.

Alok Kumar Vaishya 8:22

Good.
Oh yes, that wasn't a kind of this one, right?

Screener Two 8:29

Contractual.
OK. And then you move to vedang again?

Alok Kumar Vaishya 8:36

Right. The project was almost same but they was in the contracts.

Screener Two 8:39

Hello.
OK, IKEA I1 year.
Alok Kumar Vaishya 8:47
Play.

Screener Two 8:51

Ari Kent Technologies right aricent here for a few months as well. So is is.
Was it a contractual position?

Alok Kumar Vaishya 8:52

There is no, yes.
No, it was a direct payroll on Harrison, but the current project was shifted
from Harrison to my current company in finite computer solution. So we
were migrated from Harrison to infinite the whole team.

Screener Two 9:10

OK.
Mm-hmm.
Alright, so then you move to infinite. Can you explain the project your
latest project at Infinite?

Alok Kumar Vaishya 9:25

OK.
So currently we have a project of micro service deployment that is a 3D
micro service. Front end is in react, back end is in some Python And Java
and we have a different types of databases.
And we are climbing into the parts that is our micro services. So for that
mostly I'm engaging to like creating the customised Docker images.
For the react application of the Python application, and sometimes I need
to create the image for the database also and we are using a private
registry for the customer that is a hardware registry.
And of also I'm involving to writing the manifest files for the deployment
and the stateful side like this for the stateful application database and for
also services and sometime also I need to create the.
Secret channels and we are clubbing all the emails inside the help
because we are doing the deployment with the help of help charts. And so
after we have created the all the infrastructure with the help of Terraform.
And so whenever like after deploying means some infrastructure also we
are deploying from the CI CD so we are using mostly Azure DevOps here.
For all kind of application for all kind of means, cicd, infrastructure, cicd as
well as the application cicd. So mostly we have mainly we have two types
of pipelines one is the PR pipelines.
We are our static analysis happen means whenever someone post the
code so our static like our PR pipeline static analysis happen means the
quality gates and we have the manual approval after the quality gate
threshold match.
So we have three members there. My, my architect, my manager, my
senior architect. So they will review the threshold. They will review the
results and after that they like review the PR and they will merge the PR
after the merging the.
PR the main pipeline trigger and it will do the deployment onto the AK
onto the cloud means for the infrastructure and if it it is a application
related pipeline so that application is deployed onto the.
AKS right?
So this is the structure of our application means our pipelines and for this
I'm also involving to write for the troubleshooting past most of the
Kubernetes related troubleshooting like out of memory issues crashed the
back of issues, image pools related issues.
And sometimes last we have some of the users that what means we need
to rotate their password. So for that we have created a Crown job also. So
the Crown job is running on every month or first day of.
Everyone and it is rotating the password of the users so it was related to
the cluster and the application. So these kind of work on handling for this
project.
So for this means. Mm-hmm. You got my point, right?

Screener Two 13:04

All right.
Sure. Yes.

Alok Kumar Vaishya 13:09

It is.

Screener Two 13:11

In OK, in your previous experience, have you ever reviewed anybody's
else's code or your code has been reviewed by someone else? How did
you improve in that case?

Alok Kumar Vaishya 13:22

Hello.
Means related to cloud and DevOps.
Or the previous experience.

Screener Two 13:31

Absolutely.
Yes, yes, that one only.

Alok Kumar Vaishya 13:38

OK. So yes, sometimes on the project means I need to also review the
code for mostly on the Terraform site.
So one click need to review the code from the Terraform site. The means
the script and also I need to check the threshold of the PR pipelines. If
everything went OK so like I need to merge or I need to like approve the
PR.
After that, our main pipeline triggers. So yes, I'm also involved into this.
But it depends on the project because the current project this is a huge
project that is a MNC from the US. So mostly the reviewing part is handled
by the senior architect.

Screener Two 14:24

OK.
There.
All right. OK.

Alok Kumar Vaishya 14:40

Oh.

Screener Two 14:44

Coming to OK, coming to the self rating part where you have to rate
yourself on a scale of one to five for the knowledge and hands on
experience you have for the following skills. So how much would you rate
yourself for?

Alok Kumar Vaishya 14:53

Mm-hmm.
OK.
OK.

Screener Two 15:04

Cell phone.

Alok Kumar Vaishya 15:07

Out of 10, I will rate around 7 and half.

Screener Two 15:11

Out of five I want.

Alok Kumar Vaishya 15:13

OK, three, enough.
3 and 3.8 something.

Screener Two 15:19

OK. And cloud platform?

Alok Kumar Vaishya 15:22

For Azure it will be same three-year now.
Yeah.
Screener Two 15:28
GCP.

Alok Kumar Vaishya 15:31

Not mostly as of now, like you can consider for GCP and AWS 2 because I
haven't got so much exposure to work on to these GCP and other clouds.

Screener Two 15:43

What about this CCD pipeline?

Alok Kumar Vaishya 15:46

07.

Screener Two 15:52

Alright. And for Decker and cubanets?

Alok Kumar Vaishya 15:55

OK, for Docker it's 3.8 and for Kubernetes same 3.8.

Screener Two 16:06

Talker, it's.

Alok Kumar Vaishya 16:08

3.8.

Screener Two 16:10

OK and for Linux admin.

Alok Kumar Vaishya 16:16

Not so much. I will rate around only three because I won't work as a Linux
administrator yet.
But I'm using the Linux to work like as a working environment.

Screener Two 16:31

OK.
OK, so if you're infinite computer solutions, how did you optimise the CI
and CD pipelines?

Alok Kumar Vaishya 16:34

Good.
OK, so we have certain like scenarios to optimise the Cicd pipeline. We
have the parallel jobs means the jobs that are not dependent to each
other means terraform format and Terraform validate that.
The jobs are not dependable, so we can run those main job parallely. It
will save the time and some time for the application. We can use the
caches cut task so.
These kind of some scenarios where we can utilise we can like utilise the
CICD pipeline in a better way and when we can reduce the deployment
time also we have the template scenario.
Where we can use the customised template, we can call the customised
template inside the Cicd pipeline so it will reduce the time also. Also we
can use the self posted agent to reduce the.
Deployment time because most of the time what happen if you are using
the cloud based agents Microsoft or the data related. So at the runtime
you need to install all the required software. But if we are using the self
hosted agent.
Means if we are applying the infrastructure with the help of Terraform so
our self hosted agent we can already install the Terraform related
softwares like Terraform, TFM and TF set. So it will reduce the.
Deployment time of the timeline of the Cicd pipeline. So we have some
these scenarios where we can like optimise our CFCCICD pipeline.

Screener Two 18:31

OK.

Alok Kumar Vaishya 18:33

Yeah.

Screener Two 18:34

Sure. OK. In how do you ensure security compliance in your deployments?

Alok Kumar Vaishya 18:41

OK.
So first, mostly security related. We need to deploy the application onto
the private network that is a vnet or the subnet and to enhance the
security we can apply the network security rules and the application.
Security rules also for the past services like storage account or keyboard
or the web application or the other past services. We can use the service
endpoints and the private endpoints.
So and like whenever we want to expose our application to the Internet so
the users can use the application, we can expose the application with the.
We can use the Azure application Gateway.
So Azure Application Gateway had the firewalls like web, web application
firewalls is there so also the filtering is there URL waste filtering? Is there
mean cache?
Cache based session affinity is also there. So in that way we can optimise
the application security.

Screener Two 20:05

Alright, I think your screen got disconnected while I was sharing. Can you
please reshare it?
Alok Kumar Vaishya 20:11
OK. Oh yes, it was disconnected.
Yeah.

Screener Two 20:19

And yeah, I'm done from my side. You can please take over for the
technical part.

Alok Kumar Vaishya 20:19

4.

Screener Four 20:26

Hi. Hello. Good evening.

Alok Kumar Vaishya 20:29

What do you mean?

Screener Four 20:29

So actually you're liking your profile pretty much. That is why we would
like to speak a little more about the technical part, right. I hope that's not
an issue, right?

Alok Kumar Vaishya 20:36

Hmm.
Oh yes, after 10 minutes I have a call because I'm working on CST time
zone.

Screener Four 20:45

OK, OK, so let's type.

Alok Kumar Vaishya 20:46

But we can have around 5:00 to 10:00 minutes.

Screener Four 20:49

Let's try to do it as soon as fast as possible, so Alok, can you please tell
me like as you're still working, so like in your current project which is the
hardest technical challenge you have faced recently?

Alok Kumar Vaishya 20:52

Mm-hmm.
So the hardest challenges means whenever we deploy the application
onto the production side. So mostly we are getting the issues related to
the application like out of memory issues there and.
Screener Four 21:12
Mm-hmm.

Alok Kumar Vaishya 21:20

Image pull back of errors is there and sometime application got the high
restart coming back to the crash. No back of error. So these kind of issues
we are having on regular basis because this is a new customer which I'm
working on it.
So these kind of issues we I need to figure out means we have a team also
L2 and L3AS also supporting us.
So this kind of issue we are digging if the issues resolved from our side. So
that will be OK if that not also we need to create a ticket and we need to
involve the alpha also.

Screener Four 21:57

OK, sure. Got it. So hello, can you please open like Notepad or something?

Alok Kumar Vaishya 21:58

Right.
Isn't.
One minute, 01 minute. Can I stop myself in one minute only?
Yes.
Hope this isn't good.

Screener Four 22:34

Yeah, that's fine. That's fine. So So what you'll have to do is you'll have to
write a telephone module for creating an S3 bucket with versioning. You
got it. So so like you'll have to create an AWS S3 bucket.

Alok Kumar Vaishya 22:48

OK.

Screener Four 22:53

You'll have to use Terraform and you'll have to enable versioning. You
should also you you know like tags should be passed as variables, right?
And for the Terraform parties reusable Terraform models. I hope that
helps.
Right.

Alok Kumar Vaishya 23:08

OK, so I haven't worked on the AWS so much. I'm mostly working on Azure
site so we have created the most of the Azure resources. Means the
storage account and for the S3 bucket related we have the block
container.
Screener Four 23:14
OK.

Alok Kumar Vaishya 23:25

So.

Screener Four 23:25

OK, but let's you can do it with Azure, whatever suits you. The logic needs
to be there I can understand.

Alok Kumar Vaishya 23:29

OK.
Right. So if you want, so we have the root module like this, so inside that
root module let me blank this. First we have the Chai module of the
resource module.

Screener Four 23:34

Sure.
OK.

Alok Kumar Vaishya 23:49

Means this is a directory and inside that we have the TF files for the
resource, so it should be like this resource.

Screener Four 23:49

Mm-hmm.

Alok Kumar Vaishya 24:10

This is AL one and this is AL two and like.
If we are using where so we can use like these two ways.
For the better and just, I mean, so everyone can understand what is this
using for this?

Screener Four 24:37

Mm-hmm.

Alok Kumar Vaishya 24:41

Location care Dot location and the resource group name.
And the count is there.
Oh.
Then there is a property account replication. That means what application
you want to use.
And this is also variable as value.
So for that you are saying like versioning and all I need to check the
terraform for history because currently that is not remember these are my
mind and so this is a the source related TF we can say.
Yeah.
And we need to create the variable TF also.
Like.
Variables.
And we need to pass every variable here.
Like this?
And we we can define the type. What type of we are using this data type
like ISH.
This thing.
So yes, we need to define all these variables inside this or also we can use
the for each year and we can use. We can define a storage demo SDG
variable and in we can use the object type.
In that object we can pass all these arguments and we can pass. We can
define the data type of each argument.
And OK, so come to the module part. This is the child module and so we
need to write a child module inside the route and like.
We need to provide the source of the root, the source of the child.
Like this?
And we need to pass the we can or we can also use the loop in here.
For each and the where and the variable what we are using here and we
need to pass the values and also what we have done we can inject the
values with the help of.
Dot TF1 spine.
Hello.

Screener Four 28:16

Yes, yes.

Alok Kumar Vaishya 28:17

Is it?
So for this part I need to check the instead of the history because these
are the common arguments and arguments the optional.

Screener Four 28:28

Mm-hmm.

Alok Kumar Vaishya 28:35

That I need to check also we can create the S3 locating same manner.

Screener Four 28:53

OK.

Alok Kumar Vaishya 28:54

Is it?
Screener Four 28:59
Yeah, yeah. So this is OK. OK, I just saw hello. So can you please tell me,
like, sorry. Yeah. Already. Suppose you deployed infrastructure using
telephone.

Alok Kumar Vaishya 29:08

Is it?
OK.
Mm-hmm.

Screener Four 29:18

Hey, but you know, during telephone apply you got an error error saying
resource already exists. So how do you fix this issue?

Alok Kumar Vaishya 29:25

Yes.
OK, mostly sometime we can face this issue if the if the resource is
already or they are on the cloud means such or. So we need to manually
import that resource with the help of. There is a command.

Screener Four 29:43

Mm-hmm.

Alok Kumar Vaishya 29:43

The form import and the resource ID we need. We need to have this
resource ID and we will need an resource empty empty resource block.
Like this, if we have the storage account, so we will need this this
resource block also empty resource block so we can import that resource
inside the DF file or the DF state file.

Screener Four 30:14

OK, got it. So suppose you Jenkins pipeline is failing at deployment stage.
You know while pushing images to ecares. So how are you going to fix this
issue?

Alok Kumar Vaishya 30:17

Mm-hmm.
Mm-hmm.
OK, so sometimes we go out like pulling the pushing or pulling?
OK. So OK, so sometimes it will be happen because if we don't have the
proper connection with the registry, it could be a case or ACR or BTS. So
we need to provide, we need to establish a connection. I want working on
this.

Screener Four 30:37

Like pushing, pushing.
Mm-hmm.

Alok Kumar Vaishya 30:55

They gently so much because so for the a job of part, we need to create a
service connection. We need to provide the proper Arabic rules on to the
service connection. So in that way we can achieve the.

Screener Four 31:08

Yeah.

Alok Kumar Vaishya 31:11

This we can avoid this pull related issues during the pipeline education.

Screener Four 31:19

Oh, got it. So can you explain the flow of request from an external client
picking a URL until it fixes a **** inside providers?

Alok Kumar Vaishya 31:21

Mm-hmm.
OK, means a user want to access the application that is inside the AKS,
right?

Screener Four 31:40

Yes, Sir.

Alok Kumar Vaishya 31:41

Is it?
None.
So like if we have [Link] so the user.

Screener Four 31:51

Yeah, this experience is fine. You don't need to write it.

Alok Kumar Vaishya 31:54

OK, so user will hit this [Link] that this is a domain name so DNS will
resolve this domain name, IP and the IP will get. So after that it the IP will
be the.

Screener Four 31:59

Mm-hmm.

Alok Kumar Vaishya 32:12

Mostly we are using the AGAGIC means application gets in English control.
So we have the English in the Kubernetes side so it will lead on to the
English controller and English is connected to your.
Screener Four 32:22
Again.

Alok Kumar Vaishya 32:30

Is your front end application workloads with the help of what we can say,
click cluster IPS so that requests it to the front end nodes or front end
parts.
And if they want to access the application so that request come to the
back end related post back end namespace so we have divided the our
application front end back end and the database related.
So it will come to the back end pods if the back end API need to access
the database. So the request will go to the database related pods it will
fetch the value it will fetch the details and towards the back end pods and
back end will provide the response to the.
Important and this same goes to the English controller and English
controller to the user.

Screener Four 33:26

OK, OK. So, so sorry. Hello, can you please tell me like the difference
between CMD and entry pointing Doppler?

Alok Kumar Vaishya 33:38

OK, both are used to like both are used whenever we create the custom
Docker images with custom the custom Docker file. So CMD and the entry
point have these some sort of commands.

Screener Four 33:49

Hear me.

Alok Kumar Vaishya 33:54

That defines when the container will run, so that command will be
executed at the container runtime. But the main difference between the
CMD and the entry point is that CMD can be overwrite, but the entry point
will not be overwrite. So we are mostly using the entry points.
Like if you want to if you have the image that is that is running the engine
X. So we can define the engine X and the minus G that is a global variable
and the prominent side.

Screener Four 34:29

OK, OK, chef. Fine, fine. Alok. So Alok, like, are you having your digital
copy of pan on your computer?

Alok Kumar Vaishya 34:31

Right.
Yeah.
That I need to check one minute like OK one minute.

Screener Four 34:43

Please check it. Yeah, yeah.

Alok Kumar Vaishya 35:01

Well, yes, I am like the issue.
Mm-hmm.
