Climate Change – Presentation Script

By Yasin Joma

[Opening]
Good morning everyone!
My name is Yasin Joma, and today I want to talk to you about something very important for all of us—climate
change. Don’t worry—this won’t be boring! I’ll keep it simple, fun, and something you’ll remember. Let’s get
started!

Slide 1: What is Climate Change?

Climate change means long-term changes in our planet’s weather and temperature, mostly caused by human
actions.
Since the beginning of human history, we’ve done many things that harmed the planet—like pollution and
cutting too many trees—and now we are seeing the effects.

Slide 2: Causes of Climate Change

There are natural causes, like changes in the sun's temperature—but the biggest cause is human activity.
One big reason is the greenhouse effect, which I’ll explain in the next part.

Slide 3: How it Affects Us

Climate change affects both nature and people.
It can destroy crops with floods or droughts, make it harder to find clean water and food, and even force people
to leave their homes because of natural disasters.

Slide 4: What is the Greenhouse Effect?

The greenhouse effect helps keep Earth warm, but too many greenhouse gases trap too much heat.
This makes the Earth hotter than it should be—and that’s what causes global warming.

Slide 5: Main Greenhouse Gases

The three main gases that cause this are:

1. Carbon dioxide
2. Methane
3. Nitrous oxide
All of them come mostly from things we do—like driving cars, using factories, or wasting energy.

Slide 6 & 7: Consequences of Climate Change

Here are the top five problems caused by climate change:
1. Temperatures are rising very fast.
2. There are more droughts—less water for plants.
3. We get more dangerous weather like storms and tsunamis.
4. More floods destroy farms and homes.
5. People have to move away from their homes to find safer places to live.

Slide 8 & 9: Environmental Education is Urgent

We need to learn and talk about how to take care of our planet.
We live on Earth—it’s our only home! So we must become leaders in protecting it.

Slide 10: What Can I Do?

Here’s how I help the planet—and you can too!

1. I save energy at home—turn off lights and don’t waste water.

2. I try to use things more than once—like clothes or electronics.
3. I walk, bike, or use public transport when I can.
4. I eat more plant-based food.
5. I talk about it—because raising our voice is powerful!

As Nelson Mandela once said:

"Education is the most powerful weapon to change the world."

[Closing]
Thank you so much for listening!
I hope you learned something new today.
Let’s all do our part to protect the Earth—not just today, but every day.
Together, we can make a big difference! 🌍💚
