Switched-Mode Power Supply (SMPS)
It is the power supply unit of a computer system.
It's job is to convert AC power into lower voltage DC power
In modern system, the power requirement is 1. 2 volt to 3.3 volt.
Motherboard
It is the main printed circuit board found in general purpose PC
it hold and allows communication between electronic components of a
system.
It provides a connector for other peripherals.
It is considered as backbone of a system
add-on cards
It is a hardware unit that can be added to a computer to increase its
capabilities or a program utilities
example: Network Card ,sound card and display card
Network card
Network interface card or NIC is an electronic device that
connects a computer to a network( usually a LAN).
Sound card
It is used to provide sound to your system.
The main purpose is to provide sound through speakers ,
headphones are attached to the system.
It converts analogue signal to digital and then convert that digital
to sound
Display card or graphics card.
It is used to connect a monitor to the system .
Ports
They are used for connecting peripheral devices
an adapter will be needed if the port of the system does not
match with the connector.
There are two types internal and external port
[Link]/2 port.
It allows the connection of a mouse and keyboard
2. Serial Port
it is used for connecting modems
3. Parallel port.
It is used for connecting printers
[Link] port or Universal serial bus
most computers will have at least two USB port used for
connecting peripheral devices.
It is automatically detected and set up.
That is called as plug-and-play method.
5. VGA port.
video graphics array
It converts computers to Monitor and the projector
6. Power connector Port
It is 3 plug today and can connect it to the computers power cable
that plugs into socket
7. audio Port
It is used to connect two speakers or other audio output
devices with the computer
8. DVI port
Digital video interface
It is a high-speed digital interface between a display
controller and a display device.
It was developed for digital video signal according to its size
port can be classified into three :
regular DVI. Mini DVI and micro DVI.
[Link] port
high-definition media interface
it is a digital interface to connect HD and UHD devices like
monitor digital cameras Etc
