The following are Depth Perimeter you would apply in strategizing the security of a critical infrastructure
component

i. Physical Perimeter:
Install physical barriers such as fences, gates, and turnstiles to prevent unauthorised entrance.
Employ security personnel to patrol the perimeter and respond to any suspicious activities

Surveillance Cameras: Install surveillance systems to monitor and record activity around the
perimeter.

ii. Perimeter Intrusion Detection Systems


Motion Sensors: Install motion sensors around the perimeter to detect unauthorised movement.

iii. Network Perimeter:


Firewalls: Set up firewalls to filter incoming and outgoing network traffic, preventing malicious
connections and unauthorised access attempts.

iv. Data Perimeter:


Encryption: Use encryption technologies to safeguard sensitive data both at rest and in transit,
preserving secrecy even if it is hacked.

Backup and Disaster Recovery: Backup sensitive data on a regular basis and create
comprehensive disaster recovery strategies to reduce the effect of data breaches or system
failures.

Security Awareness Training: Provide staff with frequent security awareness training to educate
them on potential dangers and effective security procedures.
