1. Are people in your country concerned about protecting the
environment?
There are people who take environmental problems seriously enough
to recycle the rubbish appropriately, clean the area where they live and the
surrounding area.
However, some still don’t care about that, they use up energy, buy
lots of products and then release rubbish to the environment.
2. Does the responsibility for protecting the environment lie with
governments or with individuals?
It will be more beneficial if both governments and individuals share
the responsibility for protecting the environment.
First, Governments should implement the law in order to reduce
environmental problems, create programs to educate citizens about
nature.
Second, Individuals can take part in fundraising projects, use paper
cloth bags instead of plastic bags; take public transportation, walk and go
by bicycle when going on short journeys …
3. Does it help to educate young people on being green?
Yes
Nowadays, adults are still worried about money, life… so I wish the
next one will see the instance of this case and the way to get them to see it
is to teach them about the consequences of a polluting lifestyle such as
ours.
4. How can people protect the environment?
First, we should reuse, for example, using a paper bag over and over
again,
Second, we reduce, for instant, using less electricity
Thirdly, we can recycle, for example, recycling paper and plastic and
sending them to the respective industries for the formation of new paper
and plastic.
5. Do you think money should be spent on protecting animals?
AGREE: In my opinion spending money should be done to protect
animals. If we don’t do that, the chances are that we will lose many more
rare species of animals in addition to others, which we have already lost.
The end result will be a very limited and weak bio-diversity to bring proper
ecological balance on our planet.
6. Do you think more should be done to protect natural beauty
spots in your country?
Yes.
First, we have to make sure that our natural sea beaches and lakes
don’t become dirty and contaminated, not only because of tourists but also
for protecting seafood.
Second, special efforts should also be made to protect the mountains
from becoming “residence” and “industrial sites”.
Finally, our natural heritage forest sites should also be protected from
unauthorized “deforestation” in order to protect our wildlife.
7. Why is it important to protect the natural environment?
Firstly, healthy ecosystems clean our water, purify our air, maintain
our soil, regulate the climate, recycle nutrients and provide us with food.
Secondly, they provide raw materials and resources for medicines
and other purposes.
Thirdly, they are at the foundation of all civilisation and sustain our
economies.
8. What can the government in your country do to deal with those
problems?
Firstly, increase awareness, either by using different kinds of print
and digital media about natural environment.
Secondly, a government can also introduce stringent laws in order to
punish its citizens who harm their environment willingly.
Finally, a government can also introduce an “award system” for
people who successfully keep the environment clean and safe in their own
towns or places.
9. What led to environmental destruction?
Firstly, about natural causes, things like landslides, earthquakes,
tsunamis, hurricanes are the reasons for the unstable ecosystem.
Secondly, human activities in exploiting and manufacturing such as
cutting down trees, also result in this crisis.
10. Why do we need to protect the environment?
Firstly, a better environment leads to a better quality of life. If we live
in a balanced environment, we can enjoy our life, improve our health and
upgrade our life.
Secondly, it also prevents human life from natural disasters and
ecosystem inequality.
11. Name at least 3 animals that are endangered in Vietnam.
What have we done to protect these animals?
The elephant, the rhinoceros and the tiger.
In our country, there are now some organizations founded to protect
wildlife like WCS (Wildlife conservation society), SVW (Save Vietnam’s
Wildlife)...
Also, the government's illegal hunting ban came into force.
Additionally, people’s perception about protecting animals has
improved.
12. These are some species threatened with extinction: the
giant panda, the Sentani rainbowfish, the Chinese alligator, the
red wolf, the Sicilian fir tree. You have the power to save just 3.
Which 3 would you save and why?
I would save the Chinese alligator, the red wolf and the giant
panda.
Actually, I do not bias any animal, it’s just about my sense with
each. Therefore, if I had the power to save any species, I would
immediately do it no matter which species they are.
