Maximum Marks: 60 | Time: 3 Hours

Section A (1 × 6 = 6 marks)
Q1. Write the successor of 99999.

Q2. Write the Roman numeral for 87.

Q3. Find the HCF of 18 and 24.

Q4. Write the opposite of: (a) +7 (b) –15

Q5. Write 3 equivalent fractions of (2/5).

Q6. Which is the greatest 6-digit number?

Section B (2 × 6 = 12 marks)
Q7. Find the difference between the greatest 5-digit number and the smallest 6-digit
number.

Q8. Write all prime numbers between 30 and 50.

Q9. Evaluate: (a) (–7) + 13 (b) (–12) – (–5)

Q10. Express (36/60) in lowest terms.

Q11. Fill in the blanks using properties of whole numbers: (a) 278 × 1 = ___ (b) 425 + 0 = ___

Q12. Write the place value of 5 in the number 5,47,219.

Section C (3 × 6 = 18 marks)
Q13. Using divisibility tests, check whether 756 is divisible by 2, 3, 5, 9, and 11.

Q14. Write the smallest and greatest 6-digit numbers formed using the digits 5, 0, 8, 3, 1, 9
(without repeating). Find their difference.

Q15. Simplify: (3/4 + 5/6).

Q16. Represent the following integers on a number line: (a) –7 (b) +4 (c) –10
Q17. A shopkeeper has 120 pencils and 150 pens. He wants to pack them in such a way that
each packet has equal number of pencils and pens. Find the maximum number of packets he
can make.

Q18. Write the predecessor and successor of: (a) 70000 (b) –25

Section D (4 × 6 = 24 marks)
Q19. Find the LCM and HCF of 36 and 60 by prime factorization method. Verify that: HCF ×
LCM = Product of the numbers.

Q20. Add the following: (7/12 + 5/18 + 11/24).

Q21. In a test, positive marks are given for correct answers and negative marks for incorrect
ones. A student answered 28 questions correctly and 17 questions incorrectly. If he gets +5
for every correct answer and –2 for every incorrect answer, what is his total score?

Q22. The population of a town is 4,27,356. Find the population after: (a) an increase of
12,468 (b) a decrease of 8,529

Q23. A farmer has 3 fields. The areas of the fields are (7/8) hectare, (3/4) hectare, and (5/6)
hectare. Find the total area of the 3 fields.

Q24. Find the product using distributive property: 258 × 101.
