Group Assignment (PPM)
Applied Management: A Team-Based Creative Challenge
Assignment Overview
This group assignment is designed to test your creativity, teamwork, and foundational
understanding of marketing concepts. You will work in a team to develop and present a
unique marketing campaign for a common item found in the classroom. This is a practical,
hands-on exercise that will require you to think outside the box and apply diverse
communication strategies.
Due Date: September 9th and 10th.
Group Structure
Each group must consist of five members. Before the activity begins, each group must select
a leader.
Activity Breakdown
The assignment will be conducted in three distinct stages:
Stage 1: The Leader's Challenge
To determine the presentation order, a leader from each group will step forward.
The instructor will ask a general knowledge or business-related question.
The first leader to raise their hand and provide the correct answer will earn the right
for their group to present first. The remaining groups will follow in the order of the
fastest correct answers.
Stage 2: Item Selection
Once the presentation order is decided, the leader of the first group will select one
single item from anywhere in the classroom. This could be anything from a
whiteboard marker to a water bottle or a piece of furniture.
Your group will have 5 minutes to prepare your presentation.
Stage 3: The Creative Marketing Campaign
Your group's task is to create a compelling marketing campaign for the chosen item.
Your campaign must include five different and creative marketing methods.
Examples of formats you can use include a short skit, a jingle, a mock infomercial, a
catchy social media campaign, or a stand-up routine. You are not limited to these
examples.
Your presentation must adhere to the following rules:
o It must feature a unique, creative catchphrase.
o It must use at least two different languages.
o You must present at least one alternate, non-obvious use for the chosen item.
