Project Management Assignment: Coding Costs

The document presents a project management assignment focused on calculating the steady state time for a software project involving 14 coding sequences, using a learning curve formula based on a senior programmer's learning rate and initial coding time. Additionally, it outlines how to calculate the fully loaded cost of labor for a project team member, considering their hourly rate, required hours, and overhead rate. These calculations are essential for effective project planning and budgeting.

Project Management Assignment Chapter 8.

1. Assume you have a software project that will require the coding services of a senior
programmer to complete 14 coding sequences that are relatively similar. We know that
the programmer’s learning rate is .90 and that the first coding sequence is likely to take
her 15 hours to complete. Using the learning curve formula, calculate the steady state
time to code these sequences.
2. Calculate the fully loaded cost of labor for a project team
member using the following data:
Hourly rate: $17.50/hrs
Hours needed: 200
Overhead rate: 35%
