"The Spiral"
I lie awake, the night is still,
But in my head, those thoughts just won't cool down.
A whisper grows into a scream,
What ifs dancing through each dream.
I replay words I never said,
Conversations stitched with thread.
was it a good idea to smile? I'm not sure.
Regret wraps tight, begins to hold.
A glance becomes a sign I missed,
A silence feels like an iron fist.
I read between the empty lines,
Inventing truths that aren’t mine.
I question motives, tear apart
The gentle beats of my own heart.
My mind's a maze without an end,
Each turn, a doubt I must defend.
And still I sit, and still I think, .
While sanity drifts near the brink.
Overthinking wears me thin—
A battle I can’t seem to win.
But in the quiet, there’s a plea: “Just chill, take a deep breath, and I'll be right here waiting for you.
For peace begins when thoughts unwind,
And I make room to still my mind.
