SAMPLE (25%)
PART I: WARM UP (5 min)
You will be asked a few general questions about your life, opinions, and preferences. Answer each
question clearly and give details if possible.
1. What qualities do you think are important in a good friend?
Is it a good idea to have online friends? Why?
What kind of activities do you do with your friends?
2. Do you prefer living in a dormitory or in a flat? Why?
What problems do university students face when they share a room with someone else?
Describe the ideal dorm room you would like to live in.
3. What is your all-time favorite movie? Why?
Do you usually watch movies at home or at a movie theater? Why?
Do you think action movies are bad for children? Why? Why not?
PART II: PROBLEM SOLUTION (6 min)
You will be given a problem and four photos showing possible solutions. Discuss all the options with
your partner and choose the best one by explaining your choice in detail. You will have 30 seconds to
think before speaking. Here is the problem:
You are a high school student, and you have a classmate named Jimmy. Jimmy is being bullied by a
group of students, and he doesn’t know how to deal with this problem. He needs your advice.

PART III: CONVERSATION (4 min)


You will ask your partner three questions about their topic. Your partner will give short answers. Then
you will switch roles.
