**A Journal from My Khalwa Journey**
It’s the 27th night of Ramadan at 12:16
AM. I’m in bed after praying Trawih at
home by myself. Alhamdulillah, I feel
blessed, and I am hoping that Allah will
bless me with Lailatul Alqadr,
Inshallah.
Today has been filled with so many
good things, and I feel incredibly
grateful that Allah has allowed me to
continue fasting this Ramadan. I am
thankful for the inspiration to reflect
during this Khalwa, where I can ponder
the blessings that Allah has bestowed
upon me.
Having this opportunity and time to
invest in Ramadan is truly a blessing. I
can be with myself, mindfully
reflecting on my life and where I stand.
I have been able to read more Quran
with deep focus, striving to
understand the meaning of each Ayah.
Sometimes, certain Ayahs touch me so
deeply that they bring me to tears,
which is a great blessing in itself,
reassuring me that my heart is still
alive. Alhamdulillah. ڡﻠﻮب0ﻌلّﺐ اﻟ+اﻟﻠﻬﻢ ٮ 'ﺎ ﻣ

I was able to listen to the English
translation of the Quran and complete
the entire Quran during my reflective
journey in the holy days of Ramadan
while in my Khalwa. Subhanallah,
listening to and reading the Quran
during this journey feels incredibly
special and unique. It has made me
realize how amazing it is to let my soul
be in the company of its Creator, Allah,
and how abundant the knowledge in
the Quran, the “Kalamullah,” truly is.
One day, while reading Surah Al-Nisa, I
found myself wondering how we, as
human beings—especially as Muslims
—who have been given such a gift
meant to guide us, can live our lives
for so long without the Quran.
Subhanallah, it is a significant illusion
we live in.
What I have found profoundly
enlightening is that genuinely seeking
to learn the Quran authentically leads
you to discover your unique path. In
my case, I was trying to find a solution
for my distractions and my inability to
focus on the meanings of the Ayat,
focus on the meanings of the Ayat,
hoping to achieve that ٮﺬﻛﺮ5 اﻃﻤﺌ<ٮﺎن “اﻻ
ڡﻠﻮب0ﻄﻤﺄن اﻟ0ﷲ ٮ." I often found myself
skimming through without truly
understanding what I was reading or
getting lost in my thoughts instead of
focusing. This happened most of the
time, but Alhamdulillah, Allah blessed
me to regain my focus and feel more
at peace and present while reading the
Quran. Now, with the intention to learn
the Quran more deeply by
understanding the meanings of the
Ayat, Allah guided me to find tafsir in
English from knowledgeable scholars
like Sheikh No’man Khan, Imam Omar
Sulaiman, and Yaqeen Institute. I also
discovered an offline Quran
application on my phone that allows
me to read the Quran and access the
English translation without needing the
internet. All these things are
blessings from my Lord, Allah—
Alhamdulillah.
I am realizing how blessed we are to
be Muslims and to have the mujiza of
the Quran, a Book from God to
humanity. Subhanallah, I believe that
even a non-Muslim would learn so
much from the Quran. At the very
least, if they are not guided by the
Book of Allah, it will still be the most
mind-blowing, treasure-filled,
informative, important, powerful,
mindful, historical, and wisely written
book they will ever read!
How amazing, inspiring, and enjoyable
it is to read and learn about all the
stories in the Quran! Knowing about
creation, how it all began, and how the
first human was created by Allah
before humans came to Earth is awe-
inspiring. We learn about Allah’s other
creations, the Earth, Heaven, and
everything in between—humans,
animals, mountains, seas, rivers,
plants, and insects, etc.
Allah teaches us everything we need
to know, and by gifting us this holy
book, He shows us the best way of
life. It is incredible to be in the
company of Allah by reading and
listening to His Quran. It feels as if
Allah is telling us the story of His
creation, the nations that have existed
on Earth before us, and their stories,
while also allowing us to get to know
Him and worship Him. Subhanallah,
how blessed we are to receive such
treatment.
Alhamdulillah.
