universities, focusing on how it affects students’ knowledge and skill development. Using
Somali National University as a case study, the research aims to assess whether the extra
year enhances educational outcomes, better prepares graduates for the job market, and
addresses gaps in the traditional curriculum structure. The findings will help inform
future policy decisions in higher education across Somalia.

This study will be taken place at Somali National Universities. The Somali National

catering to a student body of 16,000, and boasting five campuses across the nation. By
embracing the latest technology, SNU ensures that students receive a modern and
comprehensive education. Through its commitment to research, innovation, and
collaboration, the university contributes to the advancement of knowledge and the
development of Somalia. SNU’s dedication to academic excellence and its impact on the
growth and progress of the nation make it a vital institution in the Somali education
landscape.

The study will be conducted in four months from july to October 2025.
