Scientists predict that cars will be driven by computers, not people in the near future. Why?

think it is a positive or negative development?

It is predicted that cars will have autonomous driving feature without people’s control in years to come.
This development results from a number of reasons, and I reckon that its merits outweight thd
drawbacks.

Self-driving car are anticipated to be ubiquitously used in the near future, which can be attributed to a
numer of reasons. One of the main justifications can be clearly seen is that there has been an increasing
number of momentous technological leap so as to serve the need of individuals and society. In fact,
Artificial Intelligence is likely to become more prevalent in several different aspects in life such as:
education, manufacturing process in industries or factories as the automation can be applied to enhance
job productivity and alleviate risks regarding one’s safety. Nowadays, cars have been attached with AI
technology, helping facilitate drivers’ experience and safety, for instance, having informed about some
capable accidents when approaching near other transportations or navigating direction using voice. For
that reason, it is reasonable to believe that AI will be put into application of cars in an inevitable future.

The first advantageous effect is that driverless cars can diminish host of risks while engaging in
commuting on the road. For example, autonomous vehicles may decrease the capacity of unwanted
accidents caused by drunk people or having lack of concentration. Secondly, this phenomenon has a
tendency to enable people to use cars. For individuals who are prone to physical disability or the elderly,
a car driven by AI technology would be beneficial means of transportation to commute from one place
to another, which they can hardly do with cars driven by human. However, should self-driving
automobiles be the main transports in the future, it can push people to the brink of unemployment,
especially for the drivers, resulting in the finance burden on the government. This makes the authorities
need to spend a definite amount of money to pay and support jobless people.

In conclusion, there are some known reason underlying factors for computerized cars being widely used,
and I am convinced that this trend should be welcomed as a positive development.
