• 1. Salvation –
God's Love
and Mercy
You who once were not a people, but are now the people of God; who had
not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy. (1Pe 2.10)
Out of his merciful love it pleased God to send his Son to die in place of
mankind. Practical truth
By this we know that we abide in him, and he in us, because he has given us
of his Spirit. And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to
be the Savior of the world. Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God,
God abides in him, and he in God.

Church READING (1 John 4.13-19)

And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is
love; and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him. By this
is love made perfect toward us, so that we may have confidence in the
day of judgment, because as he is, so are we in this world. There is no
fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear has punishment
with him, and he who fears is not perfected in love. We love him, because
he first loved us.
Salvation is the work of God's immense love and wonderful mercy. This
work was only possible because the Father loved humanity so much that He
gave His own Son to die in its place. Salvation
Thus, through His mercy, God granted forgiveness to the sinner. Making him
His son by adoption. Giving him life in abundance.
THE WONDERFUL LOVE OF GOD
God is love.
If it is difficult to measure the love of a mother for her children, imagine the
love of God, which is deeper and immeasurable. Can a woman forget her
sucking child so much that she does not have compassion on him, the son of
her womb? But even if she forgets him, yet I will not forget you. Isaiah 49:15
In this sense, God used the prophet Hosea to demonstrate true love for His
people When Israel was a child, I loved him; and out of Egypt I called my
son. But as they called him, so they went away from him; they sacrificed to
Baals and burned incense to carved images. Yet I taught Ephraim to walk; I
took them by the arms, but they did not understand that I healed them. Hosea
11:1-3
Love reflects the nature of God Himself, for He is love. We are only endowed
by Him with the ability to love. He who does not love does not know God,
for God is love. 1 John 4:8 The Father being the very essence of love.
Thus, the greatest demonstration of God's love for the world was when He ;
vicariously gave His beloved Son. But God demonstrates His own love
toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8
The object of this love goes far beyond Creation, for it has its monumental
value in humanity (John 3:16).
A love that cannot be contained.
God has always loved human beings. And God created man in his own
image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.
Genesis 1:27
A great proof of divine love.
God's love for humanity is unconditional. He wants all men to be saved and
to come to the knowledge of the truth. 1 Timothy 2:4 There is nothing that
human beings can do to increase or decrease it.
Man freely chose to abandon God and his love (Romans 1:18-32). However,
there is a tension between God's love and his justice. How can this be
reconciled? God's justice x Thus, God's love and justice are reconciled.
The certainty of God's love.
Unfortunately, human relationships involve exchanges. That is why it is
difficult for us to understand the gratuitousness of God’s love. God’s Love
We think that when we disappoint Him with our attitudes and sins, He turns
His back on us.
When there is a broken heart (Ps 51.17). True repentance (Prov 28.13). An
attitude of sincere return. God never abandons His children, even if they have
offended Him (Luke 15.11-32)
All this happens because the love of the Most High is not based on the human
being, the object of His love, but on Himself. For you are a holy people to
the Lord your God; the Lord your God has chosen you to be a special people
for Himself, out of all the peoples who are on the face of the earth. The Lord
did not set his love on you or choose you because you were more in number
than any other people, for you were the fewest of all the peoples;
Deuteronomy 7:6,7
A MERCIFUL GOD
What is mercy?
It is God’s faithfulness through the covenant of love established with
humanity. My loving kindness will I keep for him forever, and my covenant
will stand firm with him, Psalm 89:28 Even if humanity is not faithful. My
covenant
Thus, the Father’s mercy becomes undeserved favor toward the sinner. Who
deserved eternal condemnation. The Lord is good to all, and His
compassions are over all His works. Psalm 145:9 How permeated with mercy
are the works of God
The Father of mercy.
The Bible states that God is the Father of mercy. The Lord is merciful and
gracious; slow to anger, and abounding in lovingkindness. He will not
always reprove, nor will he retain his anger forever. He has not dealt with us
according to our sins, nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. Psalm
103:8-10 The Most High shows mercy, being slow to anger Blessed be the
God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God
of all comfort; 2 Corinthians 1:3
Based on the expression of this mercy The repentant sinner does not need to
feel troubled and distressed. My little children, these things I write to you,
that you may not sin. And if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the
Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. 1John 2:1
You can rest in God's forgiveness and reconciliation.
Jesus Christ, the Son of God, manifested the divine mercy of the Father in
the practice of his ministry. The compassion shown by the Son to sinners
(Mt 15.32; 20.34; Mk 8.2) The tender gaze of Jesus in the face of human
suffering (Lk 7.13; 15.20; Jn 8.10,11) All this expresses the image of the
Father of mercy (Heb 1.1-3). Who, being the brightness of his glory and the
express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his
power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand
of the Majesty on high; Hebrews 1:3
Mercy to the sinner.
Divine mercy would be of no use if it did not have an impact on the daily life
of the sinner. Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his mercy endures
forever. Ps 136:1 The Most High is slow to anger toward the sinner, always
giving him new chances for forgiveness.
We are delivered from our enemies (Nehemiah 9:27). Through divine mercy
We are carefully surrounded and crowned by the Almighty (Psalm 23:6;
32:10; 103-4). We are free from destruction (Nehemiah 9:31). Free He is the
one who saves your life from death, and crowns you with lovingkindness and
mercy. Psalm 103:4
Thus, despite the sinner's dramatic situation, God's mercy can miraculously
reach him.
LOVE, KINDNESS AND COMPASSION IN THE LIFE OF THE SAVED
Love as adoration of God.
Even to the point of hating Him (Luke 19:14). The sinner not reached by
divine grace is, by nature, an enemy of God (Romans 5:10). However,
through the reconciliation that Christ accomplished on the cross, God
Himself took the initiative and enabled the saved person to love Him. But a
feeling of deep devotion of heart. Therefore, the biblical commandment
invites human beings to love the Lord God above all things. This is not just
a moral law. You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all
your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength. Mark 12:30
Through divine love, the saved in Christ is led to demonstrate, in actions and
words, how much he loves God.
Love for neighbor.
This love compels us to love our neighbor. Progress in charity, according to
the example of Christ, who loved us and gave himself up for us to God as an
offering and sacrifice of a sweet-smelling aroma. Ephesians 5:2 "For the love
of Christ compels us" (2 Cor 5:14)
Christ died for you. And the King will answer and say to them, "Truly, I say
to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these my brethren, you
did it to me. Mt 25:40 But he also died for “his neighbor”. Helping others. It
is the same thing as helping Christ
According to the parable of the Good Samaritan, we must love our neighbor.
But those who appear before us during the journey of life. Not those we
choose.
Although social relations are precarious in the modern context. We must love
others without expecting anything in return. And the second, similar to it, is:
You shall love your neighbor as yourself. Matthew 22:39 Our challenge is
simply to love!
Love as diaconal service.
When Jesus washed the feet of his disciples. Now if I, your Lord and
Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet.
John 13:14 He taught, in practice, a lifestyle that should characterize his
disciples. Serving one another. Serving others demonstrates, in practice, the
greatness of God’s love.
What is the best way to demonstrate that we are followers of Christ? By
loving our neighbors. Expressing merciful affection is a state of blessedness
that the Father grants us.
Conclusion God’s love and mercy go beyond human understanding, because
even if the best linguistic resources were used, they would not be able to
describe how immeasurable these divine virtues are. Not even a mother’s
love for her child is capable of surpassing the love and mercy of our God.
Therefore, it is up to us to express this love in our relationship with each
creature.
How can we measure and compare God’s love for humanity? The greatest
demonstration of God’s love for the world was when He vicariously gave
His beloved Son (Rom 5:8; 2 Cor 5:14; Gal 2:20). Therefore, the object of
this love goes far beyond Creation, since it has, in humanity, its monumental
value (John 3:16).
Can God's love be modified by man? In this aspect, God's love for
humanity is unconditional, that is, there is nothing that man can do to
increase or diminish it.
What is God's mercy? It is God's faithfulness through the covenant of love
established with humanity, despite its infidelity.
When Jesus washed the disciples' feet, what was He teaching in practice?
When Jesus washed the disciples' feet, He taught, in practice, a lifestyle that
should characterize His disciples (John 13:14), that is, one will serve another.
what is the most effective way for a believer to demonstrate that he is a
follower of Jesus? "Love one another" is the most effective way to
demonstrate to the world that we are followers of Jesus (John 13:34).
