1.​ Give three other major scientific and technological developments in the world (or
in the Philippines) that created a large impact in your life.
➢​ I will say that the three major scientific and technological developments in
the world that created a large impact in my life are electricity, mobile
phones, and the internet.

I chose these three because of my situation right now. I need these three
for my asynchronous and synchronous class. And ever since the pandemic,
electricity, mobile phone ,and internet are essential for my online class.
That it created a big impact in my life and education. And these three are
connected to each other.

If I don't have one of these three then I can't come to our class virtual
meeting because I don't have these three. That's why electricity, mobile
phones, and the internet are the three technological developments that
created a big impact on my life and education.

2.​ What historical antecedents gave rise to the inventions you have mentioned in
the first question?
➢​ The historical antecedents that gave rise to the electricity, mobile phones,
and the internet are this following;

Before we understood the concept of electricity, people knew that there are
certain fish that can produce electric shock and Ancient Egyptians
described the electric catfish as the “Thunderer of the Nile”. They tried to
understand electricity, until 1752 where Benjamin Franklin conducted an
experiment by tying a key in a kite on a rainy day. And he was given the
credit for discovering electricity.

The very first mobile phones were invented as early as the 1940s
and not really mobile phones at all. They were two-way radios that
allowed people to communicate.

The first workable prototype of the Internet came in the late 1960s with the
creation of ARPANET. They say that the Internet was first invented for
military purposes, and then expanded to the purpose of communication
among scientists.
3.​ How did the developments in science and technology shape human history?
➢​ The development of science and technology has indeed shaped human
history.

The things that our inventors make such as telephone, television,


automobile and many more to count. Telephones allow us to communicate
with our family and friends. Television allowed us to be entertained by
watching and automobiles allowed us to move place to place much quicker.
And these things got evolved or what we called 'upgrade'. And it became
easier to communicate with one another with the help of the internet. And
automobiles also evolve/upgrade to the next level. We also have many
means of transportation.

Yes. It did shape human history. It's a good and bad thing because it's
become easier for us to communicate and have a lot of transportation but it
comes with bad things such as because of the cars/automobile, the air
became polluted.
