If I had pursued my passion for art instead of listening to others, my life wouldbe
completelydifferentnow.Iwouldbewakingupeverymorningexcitedtocreate,ratherthan
dreading another day in this soulless office job.
Back then, everyone told me that choosingacareerintheartswastoorisky.They
said I would struggle financially, so I took the"safe"route.ButifIhadn’tbeensoafraidof
failure,Imighthavediscoveredmytruepotentialbynow.Instead,I’mstuckinacareerthat
drains me, constantly wondering what could have been.
Perhaps if I had been braver, I would have at leastgivenmyselfthechancetotry.
Now,yearslater,theregretlingers.Iseeartiststhriving-someevenyoungerthanme-andI
can’t help but think, “That could have been me.”
The worst part? If I hadn’t convinced myself it was too late years ago, I mightstill
havethecouragetostartovertoday.Butself-doubthasawayofholdingyouback,andnow
I’m left with nothing butwhat ifs.
Somesayregretsarepointless,butIdisagree.IfIhadn’tmadethatchoice,Iwouldn’t
be so certain now - when you ignore your heart, the price you pay is a lifetime of wondering.
