In the field of education, assessment is a crucial component that helps determine
what is required for a certain learning program. Assessments can help teachers diagnose
the strengths and shortcomings of their students, which can lead to the development of
lessons (Ritonga, Tazik, Omar, & Drhkordi, 2022). Peer assessment is one type of
assessment that is available. Peer assessment are becoming more recognized as a useful
tool for formative evaluation (Amber, Joel, Tijs, & Tammy 2024). Peer assessment has
demonstrated beneficial effects in a variety of educational environments, including
enhanced academic achievement and critical thinking (Amber, Joel, Tijs, & Tammy
2024).
Field : Peer Assessment dengan reading comprehension dan vocabulary learning
Peer assessment are thought to be an effective way to develope reading
comprehension (Ritonga, Tazik, Omar, & Drhkordi, 2022).
A good predictor of RC during language development is vocabulary (Ritonga,
Tazik, Omar, & Drhkordi, 2022). Students' vocabulary knowledge is frequently used to
determine whether or not they are capable of accessing information (Ritonga, Tazik,
Omar, & Drhkordi, 2022). With guidance and support, students can improve their
vocabulary. Put another way, in order to enhance learning both inside and outside of the
classroom, students need to be supervised and directed by their teachers during the
vocabulary learning process (Ritonga, Tazik, Omar, & Drhkordi, 2022). Teachers can
employ peer assessment in their lesson plans to help students achieve the learning goals.
Previous studies employed an 18–26 year old age range and a high degree of education
(university) (Ritonga, Tazik, Omar, & Drhkordi, 2022). From this research it was
suggested to conduct similar research but with different age ranges for participants. To
address this research gap, this study focuses on determine whether peer evaluation is
applicable to adult learners as well as younger learners by concentrating on intermediate
level participants (junior high school) between the ages of 12 and 15.
( previous study untuk gap minimal 10)
